Mallory Slade, Virginia Wesleyan, Sophomore, Setter

Slade, a sophomore from Burlingon, N.C., helped that Marlins to a 3-0 week that included a trio of victories over ODAC foes Lynchburg (3-1), Hollins (3-0) and Roanoke (3-0).  The Marlins' setter passed out 99 assists on the week, just one helper short of averaging 10 per set (99 in 10 sets played).  She also picked her spots well on the attack, collected seven kills on 13 attacks with just one error for a .462 attack percentage.  Against Lynchburg, Slade handed out 44 assists with seven digs and a block assist.  The 44 helpers marked her sixth match this season with at least 40 assists.  She followed that with 32 assists against Hollins and 23 more against Roanoke.  She added three kills and three digs in the latter match.

Volleyball Honor Roll

Katie Long, Bridgewater (Va.) - (Jr, OH - Floyd, Va. , 11)
Long recorded double-digit kills in each of Bridgewater's three matches on the week. On Wednesday evening at Randolph-Macon, Long posted 11 kills and a dig in BC's 3-0 loss. In Friday evening's home opener, Long notched a game-high 17 kills and two digs to help lead the Eagles to a 3-1 victory over Emory & Henry. Long wrapped up the weekend by just missing a double-double with 10 kills and eight digs in Bridgewater's 3-0 sweep of visiting Guilford. On the week, Long recorded 38 kills and an attack percentage of .242.

Malikah French, Guilford - (Jr, MB - Durham, N.C., 18)
French Led the Quakers to a 1-1 week with 22 kills on .425 hitting.  She added three assists and seven blocks on the week.  French sparked visiting Guilford to a 3-2 win at Eastern Mennonite with 13 kills on .462 hitting and a match-high seven blocks.  She made two kills and two blocks in the decisive fifth set.  French then led Guilford with nine kills on .357 hitting the following day in a 3-0 loss at Bridgewater.

Rachel Turk, Lynchburg - (Sr, S - Salem, VA, 19)
Turk led Lynchburg to a 2-2 week, which featured its first conference win of the season.  Turk record 107 assists, good for a 6.69 assist/set average in 16 sets played. She had 33 digs to go along with eight kills.  Her best showing of the week was a 38 assist effort in a 3-1 win over Averett.

Mallory Carter, Randolph-Macon - (Sr, OH - Mosely, VA, 4)
Carter led R-MC to a 3-0 week in ODAC play, which included wins over Bridgewater (3-0), Roanoke (3-0) and Hollins (3-0).   She registered 30 kills in eight games for a 3.75 kills per game average.  She also hit at a .284 clip and collected 11 digs.  Against BC, Carter had 14 kills and seven digs to go along with two blocks.  Versus Roanoke, she notched 12 kills and 11 digs and rounded out the week with four kills against Hollins in limited.

Mackenzie Tyree, Roanoke - (Fr, S - Daleville, VA, 4)
Tyree helped the Maroons to a 2-2 week that included wins over Randolph (3-1) and Mary Baldwin (3-0).  She collected 17 digs against both Randolph and Randolph-Macon (L, 3-0), while adding 11 against Virginia Wesleyan (L, 3-0).  For the week, Tyree corralled 53 digs for a 4.42 digs per set average.

Haley Smith, Shenandoah - (Jr, MB - Winchester, Va., 4)
Smith helped the Hornets to a 1-2 week, which included Shenandoah's first win in league play as a member of the ODAC.  The victory came in their first conference match versus Randolph College, a 3-2 win at home.  Smtih collected 24 kills on the week with five total blocks and three aces.

M.A. Boles, Washington and Lee - (Jr, OH - Houston, Texas, 12)
In a 3-1 week for the Generals, Boles tallied 43 kills while hitting .256 with 32 digs. She had two double-doubles with 15 kills and 10 digs in an ODAC win over Lynchburg and 17 kills and 11 digs against Averett. She averaged 3.31 kills per set and also had three service aces and two assists. Her 17 kills on Saturday set a new personal season-high.
