ROANOKE, Va. --- The second-seeded Randolph-Macon volleyball topped seventh-seeded Bridgewater 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2010 ODAC Tournament. R-MC improves to 23-7 overall and advances to Saturday's semifinals where it will take on Virginia Wesleyan at 11:00 a.m. Bridgewater ends its season with a 15-18 record.
The Yellow Jackets, who won by game scores 25-15, 25-22 and 25-21, were led by Second-Team All-ODAC choice Mallory Carter with 13 kills, while ODAC Player of the Year Raena Winton had 10 and fellow first-team member Jessica Sears had nine. Sam Block dished out 21 assists and Courtney Anderson also had 19 helpers.
Defensively, Sears had 15 digs and Second-Team All-ODAC selection Marli Dabareiner had 13 stops. Tori Puryear had five block assists, while Hillary Jessee had three.
All-ODAC Second Team choice Katie Baker led the Eagles at the net with six kills and three blocks. Ashley Scott had a team-high seven kills and Lindsay Kallam dished out 24 assists. Casey O'leary did the work on defense with 18 digs.
