ODAC Players of the Week

Thru Week Prior to: March 9, 2015

BASEBALL
JT Williamson, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Pitcher
Williamson, a senior from Springfield, Va., made three relief appearances last week and was nearly lights out in each. He recorded two saves and earned a win, all against ODAC competition. He saved both ends of the Yellow Jackets doubleheader sweep of Guilford. He worked an inning and gave up two hits with a pair of strikeouts to preserve an 8-5 win in game one. In a 3-2 win in game two, Williamson retired the three batters he faced, fanning two of them. He got the victory in game two against Bridgewater, an 8-6 decision. In 2.2 innings of work, he didn't allow a hit, walked one and struck out five Eagles. For the week, he registered nine strikeouts in 4.2 innings on the hill, giving up four hits and walking one.

BASEBALL
C.J. Lindsay, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Catcher
Lindsay, a sophomore from Remington, Va., helped the Marlins to three ODAC wins last week, including a doubleheader sweep of Guilford. Lindsay hit safely in all three games, including the first of his two doubles in VWC's 5-4 win over Hampden-Sydney. In game one against GC, Lindsay went 4-for-6 with a triple and three runs scored to help VWC to a 13-1 win. He followed that with a double and a triple to with two RBI and a run scored in the Marlins 8-4 game two triumph. Lindsay has hit safely in all four of Virginia Wesleyan's games this season.

MEN'S LACROSSE
Andrew Risse, Randolph, Jr., Attack
Risse, a junior from Annandale, Va., helped the WildCats to a 1-1 week by registering 10 points over the two games. He tied a program record for goals scored in Randolph's come-from-behind 15-11 win over Illiniois Wesleyan University. He found the back of the cage five times to go with three assists. He added a ground ball and a caused turnover. The next day in a loss to Elizabethtown (13-5), Risse scored once and dished out an assist while picking up two ground balls and causing a turnover. For the season, Risse is fifth in the ODAC with 18 points and nine assists.

MEN'S TENNIS
Jordan Krasner, Washington and Lee, So., No. 1 Singles, No. 1/2 Doubles
Krasner, a sophomore from Rockville, Md., put together a perfect week in helping the Generals to five wins against ODAC competition. He went 5-0 at No. 1 singles and pulled the same trick with partner Will Bannister at No. 1 (2-0) and No. 2 (3-0) doubles. W&L posted wins over Shenandoah (7-0), Lynchburg (5-0), Virginia Wesleyan (5-1), Emory & Henry (5-0) and Guilford (9-0). Krasner won 6-0, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-0 in singles play against SU and LC, respectively. He and Bannister won 8-3 and 8-0, the latter from the top singles flight. Krasner topped VWC's singles player, 6-4, 6-1, and then lost just one game in winning vs. E&H, 6-0, 6-1. He and Bannister posted 8-2 and 8-1 triumphs. On the road at Guilford, Krasner won 6-1, 6-4 and 8-6, the latter from the top doubles position.

SOFTBALL
Mary Shipp, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Pitcher
Shipp, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., won twice in her first two starts of the Marlins weather-delayed season. She helped the Marlins top N.C. Wesleyan, 7-0, by tossing six scoreless frames of one-hit ball. She walked one and fanned four to post her first win of the season. She quickly moved to 2-0 by going the distance in an 8-2 win over fifth-ranked Christopher Newport. She gave up two runs, one earned, on five hits in seven innings. She walked one and struck out six captains.

SOFTBALL
Taylor Galvin, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Catcher
Galvin, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., hit safely in all four games last week as the Marlins went 3-1 in their season-opening contests. Galvin was 5-for-6 in a doubleheader sweep of N.C. Wesleyan, including 3-for-3 in game two with three RBI. She walked and scored a base in game one to go with two hits and a two runs scored. Galvin shook off a 1-for-4 showing in a 4-1 loss in game one to Christopher Newport with a 2-2 day in the nightcap. She scored twice, drove in a run and earned a pair of free passes to help VWC to an 8-2 triumph over the fifth-ranked Captains.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Taylor Klevenz, Randolph, Sr., Midfielder
Klevenz, a senior from Cherry Hill, N.J., helped the WildCats to a 2-0 week with wins over Southern Virginia (16-8) and Marywood (14-6). Klevenz racked up 13 points over the two contests, starting with five goals and an assist against SVU. She collected a program-record 14 draws in that contest, also adding four ground balls and a caused turnover. Against Marywood, Klevenz came up one goal shy of the WildCats' record with six goals to go with an assist. She gathered eight ground balls and seven draws while also forcing seven turnovers. For the season, Klevenz is tied for second in the ODAC with 14 points and is third with 12 goals.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Meghan Buell, Washington and Lee, Sr., No. 3 Singles, No. 1 Doubles
Buell, a senior from New Albany, Ohio, helped the Generals to a 4-0 week in league play with wins over Lynchburg, Emory & Henry, Hollins and Virginia Wesleyan. Buell went 3-0 in singles action and 2-0 in doubles contests, all with partner Brooke Donnelly. Buell won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles against LC, with she and Donnelly earning a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Against VWC, Buell played from the second singles flight and won 6-0, 6-0. Versus E&H, her doubles match was cut short due to a Wasps' injury with Buell and Donnelly leading 5-1. Buell got in full action against Hollins, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.
