ODAC Athletes of the Week | Basketball, Wrestling

FOREST, Va. --- Week 18 kicks off the reporting season for the 2023 calendar year. All games and events in men's and women's basketball and wrestling over the past two weeks (12/19/22-1/1/23) feature for this set of honors. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards for Monday, January 2, include (pictured left-right): Catherine Kagey from Randolph-Macon women's basketball, Jude Robson from Roanoke wrestling, Rayshawn Dixon from Ferrum wrestling, and Robert DiSibio from Washington and Lee men's basketball.

Below are entries for all four winners from today's release. The schedule below will be used for reporting ODAC Athletes of the Week:

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Robert DiSibio | Washington and Lee | Jr. | Forward
DiSibio, a junior from Sandy Hook, Conn., averaged 28.0 points and 6.5 rebounds and went 31-of-34 from the foul line (91.2%) in helping Washington and Lee to a 3-1 record over two tournaments during the holiday season. DiSibio registered 34 points to go with three rebounds in an 89-85 overtime victory over Susquehanna University to kickoff the Puerto Rico Clasico. He as 11-of-18 from the field including 3-of-6 from deep as well as 9-of-10 from the stripe. He made two free throws to force overtime and then scored eight of the Generals 12 points in the extra frame. He added one assist in his 27-minute shift. In game two of the tournament, DiSibio went for 23 points and five boards in an 86-72 win over the University of Scranton. He canned four three-pointers and was 7-of-8 from the foul line while adding two steals to his stat sheet. DiSibio then earned All-Tournament Team recognition at the W&L Holiday Tournament, helping the Generals to a 1-1 showing. He started with 29 points and eight boards with two steals and an assist in an 83-70 win over Vassar College. He was 9-of-18 from the field including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc with an 8-of-9 showing from the line. In the championship game, DiSibio logged 46 minutes on the floor in a 103-95 double-overtime loss to nationally 20th-ranked University of Mary Washington. He posted 26 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. He buried five three-pointers and was 7-for-7 on free throw attempts. He added four assists and a steal to his game output. For the season, DiSibio leads the ODAC in points (289), scoring (22.2), field goals made (90-of-189), three-pointers made (32-of-83), free throws made (77-of-92), and minutes played (433). He is fourth in free throw shooting (83.7%), fifth in defensive rebounds (65), sixth in total boards (87), and 10th in rebounding average (6.7).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Catherine Kagey | Randolph-Macon | Jr. | Forward
Kagey, a junior from Roanoke, Va., posted her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season in helping Randolph-Macon to a pair of victories at the Daytona Beach Shootout on December 19 and 21. Kagey opened with 28 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-49 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, a program which reached the 2022 NCAA quarterfinals. Kagey was 11-of-18 from the field and scored the Yellow Jackets final 12 points to seal the victory. She added a pair of assists, a steal, and a blocked shot to her line. Cagey then dropped 22 points and pulled down 16 boards in a 55-43 win over St. Norbert College. She was 8-of-15 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul. Seven of her rebounds came via the offensive glass. She chipped in three assists, three blocked shots, and a steal. For the season, Kagey leads the ODAC in scoring (15.7) and is second in minutes played (34.0) and defensive rebounds (71). she is third in field goals made (63-of-127), total rebounds (94), and rebounding average (9.4), fifth in points (157), seventh in field goal shooting (49.6%).

WRESTLER OF THE WEEK - 165 LBS. AND HEAVIER
Rayshawn Dixon | Ferrum | Jr. | 285 lbs.
Dixon, a junior from Fayetteville, N.C., continued his stellar season by claiming his third title of the year by winning the 285-pound crown at the Citrus Invitational hosted at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on December 29-30. Dixon, ranked fourth in the Southeast Region by the NWCA, improved to 17-1 on the season by going 5-0 with two pins in his five bouts in the Sunshine State. He opened with an 11-4 decision over Joshua Mancia from Roanoke College. Dixon then pinned Schreiner's Robert Hernandez at 6:24 to move on to the quarters. He faced Abbas Abdulrahman from Castleton in that match and earned a 3-1 decision. In the semifinals, Dixon pinned three-time NWCA 285-pound champion Jeffrey Allen from Liberty University at 2:32 to advance to the title bout. Dixon squared off with Augsburg's Tyler Kim, the Upper Midwest region's top-ranked and #2 nationally-rated competitor at 285 pounds. Dixon scored a takedown with one second left in regulation to post a 4-3 decision for the weight class title.

WRESTLER OF THE WEEK - 157 LBS. AND LIGHTER
Jude Robson | Roanoke | Fy. | 125 lbs.
Robson, a first-year from Staunton, Va., placed fourth overall at 125 pounds at the Citrus Invitational hosted at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on December 29-30. Robson went 4-2 in his six bouts, opening with a win by fall over Lucas Johnson from Williams College at 2:23. He then posted a 6-1 decision over Jase Van Pelt from Cornell. Robson squared off with the northeast region's fourth-ranked wrestler, Kaya Bogle from Castleton, and earned a sudden victory decision (2-2) to move on to the semifinals. UNC-Pembroke's Logan Seliga got the best of Robson via a 10-1 major decision, but Robson rebounded with a 5-4 decision over Taisei Karach from NYU in the consolation bracket. In the third place match, Robson fell in a rematch with Bogle, 6-2.
