Lynchburg, Eastern Mennonite Earn Byes into Semifinals
SALEM, Va. --- Lynchburg College and Eastern
Mennonite University earned byes into the semifinals of the 2009
ODAC Field Hockey Tournament in the sports six-team tourney
format. The Hornets garnered the top seed after winning each
of their seven league contests. The Royals enter the ODAC
postseason as the second seed.
Washington and Lee University and Randolph-Macon College will host
quarterfinal contests thanks to their ranks as the third and fourth
seeds, respectively. Bridgewater College will travel to
Randolph-Macon as the fifth seed, and sixth-seeded Roanoke College
makes the trek north up I-81 for a matchup with the Generals.
ODAC tournament action begins Saturday, October 31, with both
quarterfinal events. The winners will play Tuesday, November
3, at either Lynchburg or Eastern Mennonite. The ODAC
Championship will take place on Saturday, November 7, on the campus
of the highest remaining seed.
