INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- There was no question that Lynchburg College would be in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament, but location was a mystery.  That answer was provided on Sunday evening as the Hornets were selected to host a first round contest.  Centre College will make the trip to the Hill City for a showdown with the Hornets on Wednesday.

The NCAA bracket is complete with 24 teams set to compete on the national stage.  Sixteen teams will be competing in eight first round matchups, with another eight teams receiving byes into the round of 16.  First round winners will square off with one of those squads over the weekend.

Lynchburg (15-6) is one of 19 teams to punch their tickets via automatic qualification after winning their conference tournaments.  The Hornets earned the ODAC's bid after topping Bridgewater College, 2-0, on Saturday.  Centre College plays out of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), which does not have an automatic bid into the field hockey tournament.  The Colonels, who defeated Rhodes College, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon, received the lone Pool B bid in the field.  Four other squads picked up at-large bids out of Pool C to complete the field.

The first three rounds in the tournament will be hosted at various campuses across the country.  Washington and Lee University will serve as the host for the national semifinal and championship games.  Those contests are set for November 22-23 in Lexington, Va.
