Field Hockey Honor Roll

Sara Roth, Eastern Mennonite University, Senior - Midfield
Roth helped EMU post two shutouts this week. Her defense helped limit Washington & Lee to just three shots on goal in a 6-0 win for the Lady Royals. She also scored against the Generals, her first goal of the year. Against Sweet Briar, Roth scored a goal and assisted on another while her defense helped smother the Vixens to just one shot attempt (none on goal). This week was just the second week back in action for Roth, who missed three weeks with a hand injury.

Jenny Weir, Lynchburg College, Senior - Attack
Weir was very productive in a 3-0 week for the Hornets. Weir scored in all three games, dishing out assists in the last two contests against VWC and Frostburg State. Weir now has 11 assists on the season, which leads the squad and ODAC and ranks seventh in the nation.

Chelsea Baker, Virginia Wesleyan College, Sophomore - Goalkeeper
Five days after recording a career-high 29 at home against EMU, Baker improved her total when she recorded 31 saves at Lynchburg against the nationally-ranked Hornets.  Her total is the third highest in VWC history and marks her as only the third VWC field hockey goalie to record 30 or more saves in one game.  Baker followed that effort with 15 saves on Sunday against the University of Mary Washington.  She now has 126 saves this season.
