Leonard, a junior from Torktown, Va., scored five goals in the first three games of the season for Lynchburg, helping the 13th-ranked Hornets to a 2-1 start. She also added two assists to bring her to 12 points through the first week of the season. Leonard, who led the ODAC in assists (10) and finished second in points (42) and third in goals scored (16) in 2010, notched two goals and dished out a pair of helpers in an 8-2 triumph over DePauw University (Ind.) She followed that up with two more tallies in a 4-0 whitewashing of Washington College. Earlier in the week, Leonard scored the Hornets only goal in a 3-1 loss to the University of Mary Washington.

Nicole Bencsik, Eastern Mennonite, Sophomore,
Attack
Bencsik scored in each of EMU’s
opening-weekend games, providing the game-winner against Dickinson
on Saturday. In the 3-2 win over the Red Devils, Bencsik
assisted on a goal early in the 2nd to give EMU a 2-1
lead. She then scored the game-winning goal in the
57th minute. In another road game the day before,
Bencsik hit the cage in the 50th minute, giving her two
goals and one assist for the week.
Nicole Woodworth,
Randolph-Macon, Junior, Goalkeeper
Woodworth made 45 saves in the first week of play for
the Yellow Jackets, including two games against nationally ranked
teams. Woodworth made five stops in a shutout win over
Oberlin on Saturday. She also made 12 saves against No. 12
Christopher Newport and 28 against No. 18 Catholic on Sunday.
Sarah DeLuca, Shenandoah, Junior, Attack
DeLuca scored a pair of goals for the Hornets in their 1-2 week to
start the season...she notched the game-winner in a 4-2 win over
Wilson (Pa.), also dishing out an assist...she tallied the lone SU
score in a 4-1 loss to FDU-Florham to cap the week.
