LINDSAY LEONARD, Lynchburg, Junior, Attack

Leonard, a junior from Yorktown, Va., picks up her fifth weekly honor by leading the Hornets to a 5-0 shutout victory over then second-ranked Franklin & Marshall College on Tuesday night.  Leonard played a part in four of the five goals as she notched a hat-trick and assisted on one other tally.  She broke a 0-0 tie in the 56th minute with her first goal of the contest, and then followed that with another tally 78 seconds later.  She struck again in the 63rd minute for a 4-0 lead, and assisted Nicole Marburger on the game's final goal in the 67th minute.  Leonard leads the ODAC in points (51) and goals scored (22).  Entering last week, she was fifth in the country in points per game (3.67) and sixth in goals per game (1.58).  She has registered at least one point in all but one game this season, and has scored two goals in 6-of-13 games played.

Field Hockey Honor Roll

Megan Gould, Bridgewater, Sophomore, Midfielder
Gould tallied a goal in each game this past week as the Bridgewater Eagles won both of their contests. Gould netted the first goal in a 3-2 victory on Wednesday at Roanoke, and followed that with the game-tying goal in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Shenandoah. Gould leads the Eagles with eight goals on the season.

Jenessa Derstine, Eastern Mennonite, Freshman, Attack
Derstine scored two-thirds of EMU’s goals last week, including the game-winner in Saturday’s conference win over Washington & Lee.  As part of Homecoming on Saturday, she nailed the game-winning tally in the 43rd minute in the 2-1 win over the Generals.  Wednesday at No. 14 Christopher Newport, Derstine scored the Lady Royals’ only goal in a 5-1 loss.  The freshman took over sole possession of second on the team with seven goals.  She is also second with five assists and 19 points.  She is tied for sixth in the ODAC in goals, tied for seventh in assists, and tied for sixth in points.

Allie Lanna, Virginia Wesleyan, Junior, Forward
Lanna led VWC to a 5-0 win at Sweet Briar College, scoring a season-high two goals.  She put in the second goal of the game and added the third four minutes later.  Allie has scored goals in two consecutive games and in six games overall this season.  She currently leads VWC with seven goals and 14 points.
