Amber VanHorn, Sheanndoah, Sr., Defender

VanHorn, a senior from Slatedale, Pa., helped the Hornets to a 2-1 week which featured their third ODAC win of the season.  After a 3-2 overtime loss to Washington and Lee, VanHorn notched three goals in SU's remaining two games.  She scored twice off penalty corners in a 3-2 win over St. Mary's (Md.) on Thursday.  She followed that up with the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Roanoke.  VanHorn now has 17 points and eight goals on the season.

Field Hockey Honor Roll

Adriana Santiago, East. Mennonite - (Sr, M - Souderton, PA, 13)
Santiago scored two of EMU's three goals in a 1-2 week.  She notched the Royals' lone tally in a 2-1 loss to Frostburg State at the beginning of the week.  She followed up on Saturday with the first goal in EMU's 2-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan.  Santiago is fourth in the league with five assists and seventh with 19 points.

Shelly Milks, Lynchburg - (Sr, M - Gloucester, VA, 13)
Milks helped steer the Hornets to a 5-2 win over Centre College in their only contest of the week.  She scored two goals and assisted on two others while supplying solid defensive support from her midfield position.  The two-time ODAC Player of the Year is second in the ODAC with eight assists and fourth with 24 points.


Katie Torretti, Sweet Briar -
(Fr, GK - Lemon Grove, Calif/Bishops School, 55)
Torretti recorded her first collegiate win and shutout in the Vixens 1-0 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland.  While she made just one stop in that game, Torretti opened her week with 21 saves in a 5-0 loss to R-MC.
