MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Pierce Robinson | Washington and Lee | Jr.
Robinson, a junior from Kings Mountain, N.C., capped the 2021-22 regular season with his fourth ODAC weekly honor of the year and first of the spring slate following a strong 54-hole outing at the Discover Dekalb Emory Invite hosted by Emory University. Robinson finished as the runner-up after carding three rounds in red numbers on the par 72 layout set to 6,905 yards at Cherokee Run Golf Club in Conyers, Ga. He opened with a 1-under 71 and posted a 2-under 70 in round two to lead by one stroke entering the final round. Robinson again turned a 1-under 71 over the final 18 holes, but medalist Jackson Klutznick from host Emory fired a 6-under 66 to win by four strokes over Robinson. Robinson's 4-under 212 is the fourth-best 54-hole total in W&L program history. That helped the Generals to a 24-over 888 (305-293-290), 25 strokes behind winner Emory and tied for second with Babson College. Robinson, ranked 22nd in Division III by Golfstat, owns the second-lowest average in the ODAC at 73.7 over 20 rounds of competition.
