NOAH RATNER, Guilford, Sophomore

Ratner, a sophomore from Asheville, Va., shot 68-69-76--213 to place 15th among 160 golfers at the 40th Annual Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at Paradise Point Golf Club this weekend.  Guilford placed 13th in the tournament, competing in the Gold (Gold Course) portion of the event.  Ratner shot two under par on Friday, three under par on Saturday, and four over par on Sunday.  He placed the highest of any ODAC competitor in the field.

Golf Honor Roll

Mike Redwood, Bridgewater, Senior
Redwood turned in an even-par performance to finish in a tie for 16th place overall in the 160 man field at the 40th Marine Corps Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate at Camp LeJeune, N.C., leading BC in the Gold division of the tournament. Redwood opened play with a -5 first round and a three-under second round before the cold, rainy conditions cost the senior on the final day with an eight-over round. Redwood was the second-best finisher among ODAC athletes.

Mike Dowd, Hampden-Sydney, Senior
Dowd won medalists honors in the Scarlett Championship at the Camp Lejeune Invitational. He shot a 74 on day one, but followed that up with two stellar performances of 69 and 67 to finish with a three-day total of 210, two under par. Dowd also helped the Tigers win the Scarlett Division that included 16 teams.

Scott Hellmuth, Randolph-Macon, Sophomore
Hellmuth led the Yellow Jackets with a 222 score for the three day tournament. After shooting an opening round 78, the sophomore shot a 68 on day two to help Randolph-Macon make the championship cut of 16. Hellmuth finished the tournament with a score of 76 on Sunday.
