Joe Gesell, Shenandoah, Jr.

Gesell, a junior from Greensboro, N.C., was the top ODAC competitor at the SU Spring Fling hosted by Shenandoah University in Kissimmee, Fla., while on their spring break trip. Gesell finished second overall at 6-over par 150 following two rounds on the par 72 layout set to 6,665 yards at the Legends Course. Twice he fired rounds of 3-over 75, finishing two strokes back medalist Jack Haberkorn from North Park College (Ill.). The finish marked Gesell's best of the season in six starts and lowered his per round average to 79.2 over 13 rounds of action. His efforts in Florida helped the Hornets to fourth out of 10 teams at 59-over 635 (315-320).
