Lachlan, a senior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, provided late-game heroics for a second straight week, helping lead the Maroons to a pair of conference wins. Lachlan opened the week with a goal and two assists in a 16-5 road win at Guilford. He had three groundballs in that contest. He followed up with three goals in a 9-8 win over 12th-ranked Washington and Lee. His final goal of the day, which proved to be the game's last goal, broke an 8-8 tie with 5:09 to play. For the season, Lachlan leads the ODAC in goals scored with 43. He is fourth in points with 54.
Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll
Joshua Frey, Bridgewater (Va.) - (Fr,
Attack - Ephrata, Pa., 21)
Frey tallied a career-high five goals to help lead Bridgewater to
its first conference win in program history. Frey netted three
first-quarter goals in Bridgewater's 10-8 victory as the Ephrata,
Pa. native scored half of the team's goals in the win. Frey
finished the week with five goals, six ground balls and 11 shots in
a 1-1 week for the Eagles.
Chase Clausen, Guilford - (Jr, M - Portland, Ore.,
23)
Clausen led Guilford in a 1-1 week with four goals and an assist,
including a pair of extra-man tallies. He scored once in
Guilford's home loss to nationally ranked Roanoke (16-5) before
hitting for a team-high four points on a season-best three goals
and an assist in a road win over Shenandoah (19-6). The
contest marked his fifth multi-goal game of the season.
James Hughes, Hampden-Sydney - (So, A - Raleigh, NC,
1)
Hughes had a career-best performance on Wednesday with seven points
on four goals and three assists in a 12-3 win over Randolph. On
Saturday against #10 Lynchburg, he posted a hat-trick in the Tigers
12-8 triumph. For the week, he totaled 10 points on seven goals and
three assists. He did so efficiently as he took only eight shots
with seven on goal, all resulting in goals.
Jason Andrews, Randolph-Macon - (Jr, M - Hereford, MD
/ Hereford, 20)
Andrews led Randolph-Macon to a 15-12 win over Randolph College on
Saturday. The junior notched four goals on six shots and added two
helpers. Andrews also caused a turnover and scooped up two ground
balls.
Mike Moran, Va. Wesleyan - (So, Attack - Woolwich,
N.J., 50)
Moran scored a career-high seven goals in a 23-10 victory at
Bridgewater College. The seven goals tie the fourth highest
single-game total in VWC history. He has scored at least one goal
in all 12 games he has played this season. Mike ranks second on the
team in goals scored (31), third in assists (14) and third in
points (45).
