ROBIN YERKES, Roanoke, Senior - Sprints

Yerkes, a senior from Arnold, Md., qualified automatically for the NCAA Championships in two events, winning them both at the Merrill Lynch Invitational hosted by Lynchburg College.  Her time of 12.00 seconds in the 100-meter dash currently ranks her #2 in the country and is a new school and ODAC record.  In the 200-meter dash, she ran another NCAA qualifying time, this time under legal wind conditions.  Her time of 24.36 currently ranks her #1 in the country and is a new ODAC record.  She also ran the anchor leg of the women’s 4x100-meter relay team that provisionally qualified for the NCAA championships for the third weekend in a row.  Their time of 47.40 is currently the second-fastest time in the country and ranks them #1 in the ODAC by over three seconds.

Women's Outdoor Track Honor Roll

Courtney Hartman, Bridgewater, Senior - Heptathlete
Hartman placed first at the Messiah heptathlon and also met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard, finishing with 4,391 points. Hartman placed first in six of the seven events – winning the 200, shot put, javelin long jump, high jump and 800.

Melloni Diem, Guilford, Sophomore - Distance
Diem placed second among four runners in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Lenoir-Rhyne PowerSox Invitational… completed the course in 12:34.28… was the lone Division III runner in the field.

Ashley Allen, Lynchburg, Junior - Throws
Allen rewrote the record books this weekend at the Merrill Lynchburg Track & Field Classic. Allen set the new LC record in the shot put with a throw of 38'9.75" and also recorded the fourth best toss in LC history in the discus at 117'1".
