Davis, a freshman from Virginia Beach, Va., competed in and won both hurdle events at the Lynchburg Track Classic over the weekend. In the 110-meter high hurdles, he posted a time of 15.15 seconds, setting a new conference season-best mark. He went on to run 56.35 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, out-pacing his closest competitor by .84 seconds. Davis also ran a leg in the Hornets' 4x400-meter relay, helping LC to second place in a time of 3:21.84.
Men's Outdoor Track Honor Roll
Orlando Bryant, Bridgewater, Freshman, Sprints
Bryant placed fourth in the 100 with a time of
11.35, second fastest among D-III runners at the Lynchburg Track
Classic. He was sixth in the 200, 4th among D-III
runners with a time of 22.97. He also ran a leg on the second-place
4x100 relay (Fastest among the D-III teams) that finished with a
time of 42.60. The relay time is the fastest in the conference this
season.
Michael Allen, Eastern Mennonite, Junior, Jumps
Allen landed a solid jump in the long jump, taking
second at 6.83m (22-05.00), just 0.03m behind first place.
The distance was easily the best in the ODAC this year. He
was also third in the triple jump, measuring at 13.13m
(43-01.00). Allen is second in the ODAC this season in the
event.
Sean White, Guilford, Freshman, Mid-Distance
White ran the ODAC’s fastest time this season in the
1,500 meters… placed fourth in a 34-man field at the
Lynchburg Track Classic in 4:00.96, the second-best time in school
history… had the top Division III finish in the race…
also placed 10th among 38 runners in the 800 with a time
of 1:58.24, which is the ODAC’s fifth-best time of the
year… ran the third leg of Guilford’s 1600 relay team
that placed fifth of 14 runners in 3:26.77.
Jamison Monahan, Roanoke, Senior, Mid-Distance
Monahan posted a personal-best time of 1:56.28 to place
sixth in the 800-meter run at the Lynchburg Track Classic.
His time is the second-best in the ODAC this
season.
