Tim Smith, Roanoke, Senior, Distance

Smith, a senior from Roanoke, Va., put his ODAC champion cross country skills to work for a big day at the Duke Invitational over the weekend.  In the 10,000-meter run, Smith crossed the finish line first overall in a time of 30:55.43, besting runners from all NCAA divisions.  Smith's time set a new school record, ranks 20th in NCAA Division III this season, and set a new ODAC season-best time.  

Men's Outdoor Track & Field Honor Roll

Keith Lance, Bridgewater, Junior, Sprints
Lance finished fifth overall (first among D-III) runners in the 100 meters with a time of 10.95 seconds – the second fastest time in the ODAC this season. He placed 11th overall in the 200 meters at 22.53 seconds – the fourth-fastest time thus far in the ODAC. Lance finished his day by running a leg on the 4x100 relay team that placed third behind two squads from Liberty. The team ran a 42.37 for the fastest time this season in the conference.

David Cason, Guilford, Sophomore, Distance
Cason set the school record in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Duke University Invitational with a time of 9:38.38… placed 10th among 21 contestants, tops among Division III runners… lowered his own school standard by over five seconds.

Rachad Davis, Lynchburg, Sophomore, Hurdles
Davis placed very well in three different events at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational over the weekend. He took third overall in the 110M hurdles (15.19), fourth overall in the 400M hurdles (54.72), and was a part of the LC 4x100 relay team that placed seventh (43.03).

Evan Griffin, Shenandoah, Sophomore, Throws
Griffin competed in all three weighted throws at the Goucher Invitational over the weekend.  He finished second overall and set a new record in a hammer with a toss of 41.0 meters (134' 6").  He went on to placed third in the discus (40.3 meters / 132' 3") and sixth in the shot put (12.61 meters / 41' 4.5").
