Fugate, a sophomore from Atlanta, Ga., only ran in one event in her first outdoor appearance at the Dr. Jack Toms open, but it was a big one. Fugate won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.92, posting not only the ODAC's top time of the year, but also topping the NCAA Division III ranks by nearly a second. The time is a new standard at Washington and Lee, snapping the previous mark of 1:03.59, which she set last season.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field Honor Roll
Jolee Paden, Eastern Mennonite

IL)
Paden etched her name in the EMU record books in the 1500-meter
run, winning the event in 5:05.15 at the Roanoke
Invitational. The time was 4.51 seconds ahead of second
place, and put her at No. 8 in EMU All-Time Top 10. She was also
second in the 800-meter run, finishing behind teammate Chafin
Brumfield with a time of 2:32.77.
Jennifer Thomas, Guilford College -
(Fr., - Randleman, N.C.)
At Wake Forest Open, Thomas set school records in the 100-meter
dash (13.85) and 200-meter dash (29.20).
Kori Penick, Lynchburg College -
(Senior, Thrower - Amherst, VA)
Penick won the discus competition, setting a personal best, with a
distance of 35.74 meters (117' 3.0") at the Dr. Jack Toms Open.
Penick then finished second in the shot put with a throw of 12.79
meters (41' 11.5"). That throw broke the school record that she set
last year. It is also currently third in the nation. Both
distances top the ODAC so far this season.
Alexis Janney, Roanoke College - (Fr, -
Daleville, VA)
Janney was named Most Outstanding Female Athlete for the Roanoke
Invitational, winning the 100-meter (12.79) and 200-meter (26.54)
dashes. She also joined teammates to the 4x100-meter (49.07)
and 4x400-meter (4:24.98) relays.
