Aniya Seward, Lynchburg, Jr., Hurdles/Jumps

Aniya Seward, Lynchburg, Jr., Hurdles/Jumps

Seward, a junior from Ebony, Va., competed twice over the weekend and set a pair of ODAC records at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Seward, an All-American indoors in the 60-meter hurdles, is putting herself in position to earn more hardware outdoors as she won both the 100-meter hurdles and triple jump competitions. Her time of 13.76 seconds in the 100-hurdles not only snapped her own previous ODAC and Lynchburg records (14.06) from two weeks ago at the Colonial Relays, but it also ranks as the #1 time in Division III this season. She is 0.12 seconds clear of Birgen Nelson from Gustavus Adolphus for the top spot after cracking 14-seconds for the first time in her career. Seward also snapped the Hornet and ODAC benchmarks in the triple jump at 12.10 meters (39-8.50). That leap ranks third in the country this year.
