BASEBALL
Ty
Hill, Emory & Henry, So, Pitcher
Hill, a sophomore from Knoxville,
Tenn., picked up his first win of the year in game two of the Wasps
doubleheader at Berry College. Hill went the distance with seven
strong innings in the 4-1 win. He gave up one run on four hits with
two walks. He fanned four Vikings.

BASEBALL
Bay Liskey, Bridgewater, So., Designated
Hitter
Liskey, a sophomore from Bridgewater,
Va., hit .625 in the Eagles' season-opening sweep at N.C. Wesleyan.
In game one, Liskey went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored,
a RBI and a stolen base to help BC to an 8-1 win. In Bridgewater's
5-3 victory in game two, Liskey went 2-for-3 with two more runs
scored. He also smacked his first homer of the season.

INDOOR TRACK
Harrison Toney, Roanoke, So.,
Mid-Distance/Distance
Toney, a sophomore from Roanoke, Va.,
took over the top spot on the ODAC seasonal top times chart in the
mile run at the UCS Invitational hosted at JDL Fastrack. His time
of 4:22.31 was good enough for 20th overall and tops among NCAA
Division III competition in the race.

INDOOR TRACK
Jaclyn Mohlmann, Shenandoah, Jr.,
Annandale, Va.
Mohlmann, a junior from Annandale,
Va., won and set a school record in the Pentathlon at the Bomber
Invitational. She racked up 3,249 points, which included a win in
the 800-meter run. Her time of 2:22.89 in the 800-run sits second
in the ODAC. Outside of the pentatlon, she compted in the 400-meter
dash and a set a school record with a time of 1:03.44.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
David Falk, Eastern Mennonite, Jr.,
Center
Falk, a junior from Madison, Va.,
helped the Royals to a pair of ODAC wins, including a victory over
a top-25 (by D3hoops.com) for the second straight week. Falk picked
up his league-leading 14th double-double in Eastern Mennonite's
73-68 home win over 21st-ranked Randolph-Macon. He was 10-of-14
from the field towards 21 points to go with a game-best 19
rebounds. He also blocked four shots. On Saturday, Falk led EMU
with 19 points in a 76-69 victory over Randolph at home. He was
6-of-8 from the field, also converting 7-of-12 from the foul line.
He collected seven rebounds in addition to two steals and a pair of
blocked shots. For the season, Falk leads the ODAC in rebounding
(13.3 rpg) and blocked shots (68). He's third in field goals
shooting (61.1 %) and 11th in scoring (14.5 ppg).

MEN'S LACROSSE
Joe Wood, Washington and Lee, Sr.,
Midfielder
Wood, a senior from Bronxville, N.Y.,
helped the Generals to a pair of wins to open the season. He
notched a goal and an assist in W&L's 16-4 triumph against
Ferrum. He followed that with five points in a 14-6 victory at
Christopher Newport. He scored four times and helped out on
another, giving him five goals and two assists thru the first two
games of 2014.

MEN'S TENNIS
Michael Holt, Washington and Lee, So.,
No. 1 Singles/No. 1 Doubles
Holt, a sophomore from Richmond, Va.,
led the Generals to a 9-0 triumph over Virginia Wesleyan last week.
Playing out of the top flights in both singles and doubles action,
Holt topped 17th-ranked Graham Wilson in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3,
in singles play. He and Taylor Shamshiri topped Wilson and Kenneth
Downing, 8-2, at #1 doubles.

SOFTBALL
MacKenzie Creech, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr.,
Pitcher
Creech, a senior from Hillsborough,
N.C., started off the 2014 campaign in dominating fashion in
helping the Marlins to a sweep of N.C. Wesleyan. Creech went the
distance in game one, equaling her 2013 season-high in her first
start this year with 12 strikeouts over seven innings. She gave up
two runs on two hits while walking a pair. She has now struck out
378 batters in her career, just four shy of third all-time at
VWC.

SOFTBALL
Cynthia Hayes, Guilford, Sr.,
Infielder
Hayes, a senior from Seagrove, N.C.,
wasted no time in getting her season started after seeing last year
cut short due to injury. Hayes went 6-for-8 in the Quakers
season-opening sweep of Methodist University. In a 15-3 win in game
one, she went 4-for-5 with two runs scored, a pair of RBI and a
stolen base. She followed that with a 2-for-3 showing and a run
scored in a 4-1 victory. Hayes, also walked in the latter contest,
has reached base in seven of her first nine plate appearances.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Taylor Huber, Randolph-Macon, Jr.,
Forward
Huber, a junior from Ashland, Va.,
picks up her third weekly award after leading Randolph-Macon to
conference wins at Shenandoah (86-77) and at home against Guilford
(80-74). Huber scored 50 points over the two games, including 24 at
SU. She cashed in 10-of-11 free throws, adding six rebounds, two
assists and four steals to her stat line. Against the Quakers,
Huber posted 26 points with an 11-for-12 performance from the
stripe. She also buried a trio of three-pointers in addition to
four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot. For the
season, Huber leads the ODAC in scoring (22.0 ppg) and
three-pointers made (61). She's also fifth in steals (43).

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Margaret Klein, Washington and Lee, Sr.,
Attack
Klein, a senior from North Andover,
Mass., led the Generals to a 12-11 overtime win at home against
16th-ranked Christopher Newport in the 2014 season opener. She
scored two goals in the first half to give the Generals a 6-5
halftime lead. She increased the lead to 7-5 after notching the
first goal of the second half. After a CNU comeback sent the game
to overtime, Klein notched the game-winning goal with 18 seconds
left in the second 3:00 minute period to secure the victory. Klein
paced the Generals with four goals, one groundball and three draw
controls.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Meghan Buell, Washington and Lee, Jr.,
No. 1 singles/No. 1 doubles
Buell, a junior from New Albany, Ohio,
led the Generals to a 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan to open the
spring season. Playing from both the #1 singles and doubles
positions against the Marlins, Buell turned back Mia Proctor in
singles play in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. She and Chelsea Mixon
parterned to defeated Proctor and Hannah Parent, 8-2, in doubles
action.
