ODAC Athletes of the Week | Baseball, Basketball, Men's Lacrosse

FOREST, Va. --- Believe it or not, some spring sports have joined the active ranks with first reports for baseball and men's lacrosse joining men's and women's basketball in action today with the continuation of indoor track & field for Tuesday. Those earning weekly honors include (heads, top-bottom, left-right): Kelly Williams (WBB) from Randolph-Macon, Davrion Grier (MBB) from Bridgewater, John Judy (BSB) from Eastern Mennonite, Mike Nickles (BSB) from R-MC, and Jack Hayden (MLAX) from Hampden-Sydney.

Below are entries for all five winners from today's multi-sport release. Click on the associated links to see that sport's weekly honor roll.

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
John Judy | Eastern Mennonite | Sr. | Starter
Judy, a senior from Shanks, W.Va., opened up his season with six strong innings to earn the win, 2-1, over N.C. Wesleyan and lock up a series victory over Battling Bishops. In Judy's six frames, he gave up one run on five hits. He walked a pair of fanned four in the seven-inning series rubber match. Earlier in the series, Judy went 4-for-6 at the dish with a triple and run driven in.

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mike Nickles | Randolph-Macon | Sr. | 3rd Base
Nickles, a senior from Stafford, Va., started off his season with a strong two-game set in a pair of victories for Randolph-Macon. The reigning ODAC Player of the Year reached base in seven of his first 10 plate appearances on the way to a .517/.700/1.143 slash line. He went 4-for-7 with three walks, two runs scored, a double, two-run homer, and three RBI as the Yellow Jackets rang up 6-3 and 9-3 victories over Rhodes College and Belhaven, respectively. Nickles' two-run blast came against Rhodes, while he went 3-for-4 with a double and two walks against Belhaven.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Davrion Grier | Bridgewater | Sr. | Forward
Grier, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., shot 75.0-percent from the field (15-of-20) that included an 8-of-9 showing from three-point territory as the Eagles went 1-1 against ODAC competition last week. In an 83-69 setback to nationall third-ranked Randolph-Macon, Grier registered 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting including 4-of-4 from deep He added six rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Grier followed that up with 22 points on 7-of-10 from the field with a 4-of-5 showing from beyond the arc in a 109-90 win over Emory & Henry. He pulled down seven rebounds and registered two assists, two blocked shots, and a steal. For the season, Grier is fourth in the ODAC in points scored (353) and sixth in scoring average (16.0). He is #1 in field goal shooting (.596), second in field goals made (137-of-230) and three-point shooting (.500 | 28-of-56), and third in blocked shots. He averages 6.8 rebouns per game.

MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jack Hayden | Hampden-Sydney | Sr. | Attack
Hayden, a senior fro Apex, N.C., got his season started off with a stellar effort as Hampden-Sydney knocked off Mary Washington to open a campaign for the second straight year. Hayden poured in five goals and dished out three assists on the way to a 21-13 Tigers victory. He scored his goals on nine shots - with eight on-target - with one tally coming in a man-up situation and another with H-SC a man down. He also picked up a ground ball.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kelly Williams | Randolph-Macon | Sr. | Center
Williams, a senior from Garysburg, N.C., picks up her second weekly award of the season after picking up a pair of double-doubles in two Randolph-Macon wins. Williams opened with 17 points and 13 rebounds in a 70-54 non-conference win at St. Mary's (Md.). She was 7-of-10 from the field and chipped in two blocked shots and an assist. Williams further increased her production in a 71-56 win over Washington and Lee. She was 8-of-14 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line on the way to 22 points. Seven of her 18 rebounds came via the offensive glass. She added two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots. Williams is now third in R-MC history in scoring (1,766). For the season, Williams leads the ODAC in total rebounds (216) and rebounding average (11.4). She is second in scoring (15.8) and third in points scored (301). She is second in blocked shots (44), third in free throws made (79-of-118), fourth in field goals made (108-of-218), and sixth in field goals shooting (.495).
