  • Washington and Lee's Tucker Named an All-American by the NFHCA
    December 07, 2017
    Washington and Lee University forward Haley Tucker was tabbed a Third Team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Wednesday. She is the third General to earn such a distinction, joining fellow third team selections Maggie Waxter and Kendall Korte in 2016 and 2007, respectively.

    Despite two goals from sophomore forward Lauren Paolano (Huntington, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) and 16 saves from junior goalkeeper Ariyel Yavalar (Baltimore, Md./Garrison Forest School), the Washington and Lee field hockey team fell at top-ranked Messiah, 3-2, on Saturday, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Generals Advance in NCAA Field Hockey with Double-OT Victory

    Off a pass from sophomore forward Lauren Paolano (Huntington, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor), junior forward Haley Tucker (Manakin-Sabot, Va./St. Catherine's School) registered the game-winning goal to give the Washington and Lee field hockey team a 1-0 double overtime victory over Denison in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday at the W&L Turf Field.
  • W&L's Tucker and Wills Lead ODAC Field Hockey Awards

    Washington and Lee University took home two of the four special individual awards and saw five Generals slotted to all-conference teams to headline to the 2017 All-ODAC Field Hockey awards. W&L forward Haley Tucker earned ODAC Player of the Year honors, while mentor Gina Wills received ODAC Coach of the Year laurels. Lynchburg College forward Jackie Lerro picked up ODAC Rookie of the Year recognition, while Shenandoah University midfielder Elizabeth Pardo was tabbed the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete. 
  • Washington and Lee Enters NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament

    Washington and Lee University made good on its third straight appearance in the ODAC Field Hockey Tournament championship game on Saturday evening, lifting the program's second conference trophy. Now the Generals know their placement in the NCAA Division III Tournament.  Washington and Lee will open the first round at home on Wednesday.
  • Generals Top Lynchburg in Overtime to Claim ODAC Field Hockey Title

    Junior forward Haley Tucker (Manakin-Sabot, Va./St. Catherine's School) tallied the game-winning goal 2:46 into overtime to propel the top-seeded Washington and Lee field hockey team to a 2-1 victory over second-seeded Lynchburg in the ODAC Championship contest on Saturday at the W&L Turf Field. This marks the second ODAC title in program history and the first since 2005.

  • ODAC Field Hockey Tournament Pairings Set

    Washington and Lee University ran the league table on the way to securing the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Field Hockey Tournament. The top position in the conference's six-team format awards the Generals a bye thru the quarterfinals and the opportunity to serve as host for the semifinals and finals.

  • Washington and Lee Tops Tightly Packed ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll

    Parity is the word that best describes what the conference coaches foresee from the ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll as four teams split first place votes and are separated by just seven points in the annual coaches' survey. Washington and Lee University heads up the chart for the second straight year, collecting three top nods and 43 total points. Lynchburg College sits second with 41 tallies and one first place vote, while defending ODAC champion Shenandoah University is just another two points behind after earning three first place votes. Bridgewater College garnered the remaining top prediction on the way to 36 total markers.
