ODAC Splits Senior All-Star GamesMarch 24, 2009The ODAC split the ODAC-USA South Senior All-Star Basketball Games last weekend at Hampden-Sydney College, marking the third straight year the teams had each won a contest. The ODAC women evened their record at 2-2 while the ODAC men suffered their first loss in four tries.

Guilford Tops F&M for Third PlaceMarch 21, 2009Guilford College had four players in double figures as the Quakers won the NCAA Division III Mens Basketball National Consolation game, defeating Franklin & Marshall College, 79-67. The Quakers (26-6) wrapped up their best campaign since 1972-73 with a national third place finish.

Guilford Topped by Washington U.March 20, 2009Aaron Thompson scored a game-high 30 points to lead Washington University-St. Louis to a 77-58 win over Guilford College in the first of two NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament semifinal games Friday. The win sends the defending national champion Bears back to the title game. The Quakers await their opponent in the national third place game.

Virginia Wesleyan Wins Fourth ODAC TitleMarch 01, 2009Eighth-seeded Washington and Lee battled back from a 16-point first half deficit to pull within one point in the final minute, but could not take the lead as seventh-seeded Virginia Wesleyan pulled out a 66-62 victory in the championship game of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Randolph forward Derrick Woods-Morrow received ODAC top rookie honors, and WLU senior Ben Heller was selected as the scholar-athlete.

Randolph-Macon Heads ODAC Mens Basketball PollOctober 30, 2008Randolph-Macon College collected 10 first place votes and 119 total points to earn the top slot in the 2008 ODAC Mens Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll. Virginia Wesleyan College picked up one first place nod and notched 110 total tallies for second place and Guilford College sits in third place with 88 total points.

Bridgewater Names Burgess Head Mens Hoops CoachSeptember 09, 2008Don Burgess, a veteran Division I assistant coach and a native of Harrisonburg, Va., has been named the new head mens basketball coach at Bridgewater College. Curt Kendall, the Colleges Director of Athletics, introduced Burgess during a Thursday afternoon press conference at Nininger Hall on the Bridgewater campus.

Guilford Appoints Tom Palombo Athletics DirectorSeptember 03, 2008Guilford College Vice President for Enrollment and Campus Life Randy Doss '82 announced Tom Palombo will serve as the school's athletic director Tuesday. Palombo, who also serves as the Quakers' head men's basketball coach, assumed the position on an interim basis last September upon Marion Kirby's retirement.
