NEWPORT NEWS, Va. --- Roanoke College saw its run in the NCAA Division III Softball Championship come to a close on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to nationally 10th-ranked Christopher Newport University in the first of two possible regional championship games.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The Maroons held the captains to 4 scoreless innings before they were able to push a run across.
• With hopes of a rally in the top of the sixth the maroons were able to put runners on the corner but were unable to push across the run. The Captains were able to add two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win.
• Molly Epperson went 2 for 3 on the day.
• Jada Karnes worked the first five innings and surrendered two runs while scattering eight hits with a pair of strikeouts.
