Morris, a freshman from Elkton, Va., led the Hornets to two wins in the first collegiate games of her career. She threw two complete games, allowing 15 hits and three walks over 14 innings with three strikeouts. She held Greensboro to just one run in a 4-1 result for her first collegiate victory. She followed that up with a 4-3 win in which she allowed two earned runs (one unearned).

Shelby Bowser, Guilford, Senior
Bowser held seventh-ranked Emory to two hits over
six innings of relief work in a no decision… the Eagles hit
.087 against her.
Kristen Hutchinson, Randolph, Sophomore
Hutchinson allowed only one run on four hits while earning the
win in the season opener in her first start as a WildCat. In the
second game of the day, she came on in the seventh inning to earn a
save, tossing a scoreless inning.
