Heather Jenkins, Bridgewater, Junior, Pitcher

Jenkins, a junior from Locust Grove, Va., saw her scoreless innings streak snapped this week at 33.1 innings, but the junior hurler went 2-0 to help lead the Eagles to a 3-1 week on the diamond. Jenkins tossed a complete-game four-hitter on Monday evening against Greensboro to help lead the Eagles to an 8-0 victory in six. On Saturday, Jenkins retired the first batter before allowing a run to visiting Randolph in the first.  She cruised the rest of the way to pace the Eagles in a 4-1 win. On the week, Jenkins allowed 11 hits and struck out 11 batters to run her wins total to 11 against just one loss.  The 11 wins are second in the ODAC.  She leads the league with a 0.56 earned run average and seven shutouts.

Softball Pitching Honor Roll

Jessica Burcham, Guilford, Senior, Pitcher
Burcham went 2-1 with a 1.67 ERA in three complete-game appearances last week… twirled a one-hitter in the Quakers’ 9-1 ODAC win at Emory & Henry… fanned a season-high nine and yielded one earned run in a 2-0 loss to Eastern Mennonite… picked up her team-leading fifth win of the season with a complete game win over Methodist (6-3).

Kaitlyn Morris, Lynchburg, Freshman, Pitcher
Morris went 3-1 last week for the Hornets in four appearances. She pitched 26.2 innings, relinquishing only 11 runs in four games. Morris struck out 14 while holding a 2.89 ERA in the week. Against Ferrum, she went all 10 innings which was the first of her three complete games in the four she pitched.

Heather Lewis, Randolph-Macon, Junior, Pitcher
Lewis picked up three wins to give her nine on the season as she made five appearances in the circle last week.  She picked up wins over Virginia Wesleyan and Roanoke, as well as an eight-inning complete game three-hitter against Stevenson.  She made two relief appearances as well.  For the week, Lewis gave up 29 hits in 26.2 innings while surrendering nine runs (three earned).  She fanned 11 batters.

MacKenzie Creech, Virginia Wesleyan, Sophomore, Pitcher
Creech picked up a pair of wins last week, giving her three on the season.  She struck out 14 batters in wins over Randolph-Macon (5-3) and Roanoke (2-1), and gave up just eight hits in 14 innings.
