Carter, a junior from Richmond, Va., picked up her first win of the 2013 season as she tossed a complete-game to defeat Averett, 2-1. Carter game up one run (earned) on four hits while walking one and fanning three.  The win helped the WildCats to a season opening split with the Cougars.

Softball Pitching Honor Roll

Amber Ingram, Lynchburg - (So, P/OF - Floyd, VA, 14)
Ingram threw a complete game Friday in game 2 of LC's doubleheader at Greensboro, a 9-3 win.  She gave up three runs (two runs) on five hits while walking five and fanning two.

Kristina Karagiorgis, Va. Wesleyan - (So, Pitcher - Ashburn, Va., 22)
Karagiorgis helped VWC to a pair of wins to open the season.  She took to the rubber in game one, firing five innings in an 8-2 win.  She allowed one hit and two runs (both unearned) while walking three and fanning 10.  She was solid from with the bat, going 3-for-7 with a triple and three RBI.
