MacKenzie Creech, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Pitcher

Creech, a junior from Hillsborough, N.C., appeared in three of the Marlins four games last week, picking up a pair of victories and a save.  She opened the week with a scoreless inning to close out a 7-5 win over Randolph-Macon to record her first save of the season.  She started and went the distance in game two against Randolph-Macon.  She surrendered one run on three hits with one walk in seven full innings.  She also fanned three Yellow Jackets.  Creech capped her week with her 11th win of the season in an 11-3 victory over Mary Washington.  For the week, Creech tossed 11.0 innings and posted a 0.64 earned run average, lowering her season ERA to an ODAC second-best 1.22.  Her 11 wins are tied atop the ODAC lists, and she's fourth in both innings pitched (69.0) and strikeouts (54).

Softball Pitching Honor Roll

Heather Jenkins, Bridgewater (Va.) - (Sr, P/OF - Locust Grove, Va., 6)
Jenkins tossed a two-hit shutout in her lone appearance of the week in a 2-0 win over Shenandoah. For Jenkins, the shutout ties the career shutouts record for the Eagles with her 18th career outing without surrendering a run. Jenkins fanned five batters and walked just one in the win.

Casey Snead, Guilford - (Fr, OF - Ellerbe, N.C., 8)
Snead struck out seven in a complete game 6-3 win at N.C. Wesleyan, earning the win to improve to 2-1.  She now stands second in the ODAC in K/G at 10.94 with her seven-strikeout performance.

Hope Johnson, Lynchburg - (So, P - Evington, VA, 8)
Johnson threw a complete-game Saturday in a 5-1 win over Randolph. She scattered three hits and two walks while striking out five WildCats. She has a 7-1 record and a 1.83 ERA so far this season.

Logan Carter, Randolph - (Jr, P - Richmond, VA, 16)
Carter went 2-1 last week, earning a decision in all three games she pitched. Against Sweet Briar, she tossed a complete game shutout, surrendering just one hit and fanning 11 Vixen hitters. The 11 K's in a game tied a school record. She then allowed only one earned run over seven total innings over two games to No. 17 Lynchburg on Saturday, taking a loss in game one but picking up the win in relief in game two. On the week, she went 12 total innings, struck out 16 and allowed just 11 base runners by way of walk or hit.

Kristen Dize, Randolph-Macon - (Sr, RHP - Onancock, VA / Nandua, 5)
Dize went the distance in her lone appearance of the week, as she gave up three runs (two earned) on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout in six innings of work during a 3-1 loss to VWC.

Kelly Higbie, Roanoke - (So, P - Midlothian, VA, 23)
Higbie improved to 7-3 on the season with a 2-1 complete game win over Eastern Mennonite.  She gave up one run on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.

Stephanie Cameron, Shenandoah - (Jr, P - Ocala, Fla., 14)
Cameron went 1-1 on the week as SU split a double-header with Bridgewater.  In 2-0 loss in game one, she gave up two runs on three hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts in a four innings of work.  Cameron came in relief to earn the win in SU's 3-1 victory in game two.  She surrendered one run and one hits with three punchouts in three innings in the circle.  Cameron is now 11-5 on the season.
