Allman, a senior from Solon, Va., helped lead Eastern Mennonite to four wins in its 5-1 that included a season-ending sweep of 16th-ranked Lynchburg College to secure a spot in the upcoming ODAC Softball Tournament. Allman went 6-for-13 (.462) with a double, two homers, six runs scored and nine runs batted in. She had at least one hit in each contest, highlighted by two hits and a pair of RBI in game one against LC. She had five RBI in total against the Hornets as she drove in three with a two-run homer in the nightcap. She also had three RBI when she hit three-run shot against Mary Washington to begin the week. For the season, Allman is batting .413 (10th in the ODAC) with eight homers (5th) and 41 runs driven in (5th). She is EMU's career leader in homers, RBI and walks.
Softball Player Honor Roll
Kasey Anderson, Bridgewater (Va.) -
(Jr, 2B - Chatham, Va., 2)
Anderson helped lead the Eagles to a 4-2 record in the final week
of the regular season. She hit at a .478 clip with seven runs
scored, three RBI, three stolen bases and two triples. She
had four multi-hit games, including three-hit efforts in a 10-4
non-conference win over York and a 4-3 triumph over Guilford in
game one of a split doubleheader.
Marty Wilcox, Guilford - (So, IF - South
Charleston, W. Va., 22)
Wilcox went 9-for-18 in Gulford's 1-5 week to close the 2013
season. She knocked a double and homer while scoring four
runs and collecting a pair of RBI. She notched three
multi-hit games, including a three-hit performance in a 9-8 loss at
Shenandoah.
Cassie Phillips, Lynchburg - (Jr, P -
Ashburn, VA, 19)
Phillips drilled a pair of home runs and slugged .882 for the week
as LC went 4-2 in conference play. She had a pair of two-hit
games, with both homers coming in an 8-5 win over Emory & Henry
in game one of the Hornets sweep of the Wasps. She also
worked 6.1 innings of relief from the circle, sporting a 1.11
ERA.
Michalann Camp, Randolph-Macon - (Sr, 3B
- Courtland, VA / South Hampton Academy , 22)
Camp led the R-MCA with five hits, including one double, and three
RBI in the Yellow Jackets' 4-1 week. Camp finished the week hitting
.357 and with a .471 on base percentage. She also posted seven
putouts and eight assists from her third-base position.
Leona Rainey, Roanoke - (Sr, CF -
Sandston, VA, 6)
Rainey went 11-for-19 with four doubles, a triple, seven runs
scored and three RBI in the Maroons' 4-4 week. She had at
least two hits in four of the five games she played. She also
stole three bases, giving the ODAC's all-time leader 20 steals on
the season and 123 for her career. She had three hits with a
pair of doubles and three runs scored to begin the week in a 10-5
win over Ferrum. She finished the week with a double and a
RBI in a 4-0 win over Randolph-Macon.
Kimberly Brady, Shenandoah - (Fr, OF -
Gainesville, Va., 10)
Brady hit .462 (6-for-13) in SU's 2-2 week. She also knocked
a triple, scored two runs and drove in a pair. In a
doubleheader sweep of Guilford, she had five hits in seven at-bats
with two runs scored and a RBI.
Courtney Bogan, Va. Wesleyan - (Fr, OF -
Round Hill, Va., 3)
In a 3-0 week for Virginia Wesleyan, Bogan went 5-for-10 with at
least one hit in each game. She smacked two triples, both
coming in a 3-for-4 day to open the week against E&H. She
scored four of her six runs for the week in that game, also
collecting a pair of RBI. She notched a steal in each game,
giving her 22 on the season, fourth-best in the conference.
Her .430 batting average ranks seventh.
