Brandy Bryant, Emory & Henry, Sr., Pitcher

Bryant, a senior from Salem, Va., went 2-0 with two saves in four appearances last week.  She won 2-1 over Roanoke with seven complete innings of work, giving up one run on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts.  Her other win came in a 1-0 shutout of Bridgewater.  She gave up just two hits, walked two and struck out a pair in another seven inning effort.  Her first save came after a scoreless 1.1 innings against Bluefield as she allowed one hit, walked one and struck out two.  Her second save was a came in a split appearance in which she worked five total innings an 11-9 win over EMU.  She started and worked the first 4.1 before returning to record the final two outs for the save.  She gave up seven runs, five earned, on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts.  Bryant is now 5-0 with a 1.69 ERA.  E&H is now 17-1 overall, the best start in program history.

Softball Pitcher Honor Roll

Amanda Lutz, Bridgewater (Sr. - Stephens City, Va.)
Lutz went 1-1 in two starts last week covering 12.0 innings of work.  She allowed one total run on 13 hits with nine strikeouts.

Lauren Seale, Eastern Mennonite (Fr. - Madison, Va.)
Seale went 1-1 with a save in three outings last week.  She got the win in a 7-2 triumph over BC, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts in seven innings in the circle.  She got the save in game one against Guilford, giving up one run on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 2.2 innings.

Ashley Boteler, Guilford (Sr. - Manassas, Va.)
Boteler went 2-1 last week, getting a 3-1 complete game win against N.C. Wesleyan.  She gave up one unearned run on one hit with three walks and a strikeout.  She worked three innings in a 16-3 win over Shenandoah to get her second win, giving up one run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts.  She took the loss in a 14-12 setback to EMU, giving up seven runs, three earned, on seven hits with a walk and a punchout in 4.1 innings.

Hope Johnson, Lynchburg (Sr. - Evington, Va.)
Johnson went 2-2 last week, getting wins over DePauw (4-1) and Roanoke (11-9).  She went the distance against DePauw, giving up one run on four hits with three strikeouts in seven innings.  She got the win with 1.1 innings of work in extra innings, giving up one unearned run on two hits with two strikeouts.  Her losses came to Mary Washington (2.1 IP, 2 h, 1 ue) and Roanoke (3.1 IP, 6 h, 3 r, 2 k).

Kelsey McLaughlin, Randolph-Macon (So. - Richmond, Va.)
McLaughlin went 2-1 last week, getting wins over Methodist (6-0) and Randolph (12-3).  She shutout MU on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts in seven innings.  She gave up three runs on seven hits with four walks in five innings to defeat the WildCats.  Her loss came to Virginia Wesleyan (4.2 IP, 12 h, 7 r, 2 er, 1 bb, 3 k) earlier in the week.

Kristina Karagiorgis, Virginia Wesleyan (Sr. - Ashburn, Va.)
Karagiorgis earned three wins last week against conference competition to move to 9-2 overall.  She gave up one unearned run on two hits with five walks and 10 strikeouts in six-inning complete game to beat R-MC (9-1).  She followed with four innings against Randolph (9-3), giving up three runs on four hits with four walks and a four strikeouts.  She finished up with a five-inning shutout (9-0) of Shenandoah, giving up one hit with two walks and nine strikeouts.
