Caley Hodge, Emory & Henry, So., Designated Player

Hodge, a sophomore from Elizabethton, Tenn., was blistering at the dish in the Wasps 4-2 week as she went 12-for-18 for a .667 batting average against ODAC foes.  She also walked five times, giving her a .750 on-base percentage for the week.  Hodge smacked four extra-base hits with three doubles and a homer while driving in eight runs and scoring six times.  She was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in game two of a sweep of Guilford (2-0, 7-6).  Despite a pair of loss to Eastern Mennonite, Hodge went 6-for-7 with two walks in the two games, driving in two runs and scoring twice.  She kept at it in a sweep (12-9, 8-2) of Bridgewater, going 3-for-7 with two doubles and homer.  She drove in six runs, including four in the second game, while also scoring twice.  She finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage.  For the season, Hodge is seventh in the ODAC with a .457 batting average.  Her 37 hits are tied for first, and she's second in RBI with 30.  Her .550 OBP is also second in the league.

Softball Player Honor Roll

Brianna Cox, Bridgewater (Sr. - DP/P)
Cox went 6-for-19 with two doubles, a triple, homer, five RBI and five runs scored in the Eagles' 2-4 week. She was a single short of the cycle with two RBI in game one of a sweep of Sweet Briar.

Danyele Smith, Eastern Mennonite (Jr. - IF)
Smith was 8-for-23 with seven extra-base hits as EMU went 5-3 last week. She had a pair of two hit games, driving in 11 runs overall and scoring 12 times. She had three doubles, a triple and three homers on the week, highlighted by a double, homer and four RBI in a 10-5 win over E&H. She had a solo shot in the first game (W, 8-6) of the series.

Makayla Carver, Guilford (Fr. - P)
Carver went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a walk-off single in the Quakers 4-3 win over Eastern Mennonite.

Mackenzie Chitwood, Lynchburg (Fr. - C)
Chitwood hit 9-for-19 last week, helping the Hornets to a 6-0 showing.  She had four two-hit games, smacking three homers with eight RBI.  She also walked twice for a .545 OBP. She ahd a homer in each game of a sweep (5-3, 3-2) of Roanoke, driving in two runs apiece.

Madison Gilman, Randolph-Macon (Sr. - C)
Gilman went 8-for-19 with three doubles, a homer, four RBI and five runs scored in the Yellow Jackets 6-0 week.  She had three hits with two doubles in a 4-0 win at Randolph. She went 3-for-6 with a double, homer and three RBI in a sweep (4-0, 5-1) of Bridgewater.

Cassetty Howerin, Virginia Wesleyan (So. - 1B)
Howerin went 7-for-14 in the Marlins 4-0 week.  She hit three homers and drove in seven runs.  She had a homer in three straight games, including one each in a sweep of #4 CNU.  She was 4-for-6 with four RBI and three runs scored in that series.
