Candace Whittemore, Randolph-Macon, So., Pitcher

Whittemore, a sophomore from Montpelier, Va., went 3-0 with a save in four appearances last week, going the distance in each of her starts. Whittemore opened her week with a one-hit shutout of Eastern University, posting a 3-0 win. She struck out eight and did not walk a batter. Then at the Beach Blast tournament, she two-hit sixth-ranked Manhattanville on the way to a 4-2 win. She gave up two runs (one earned) on those two hits with two walks and seven punchouts in 7.0 frames in the circle. Whittemore followed that with a third complete-game victory in a 4-3 decision over Case Western Reserve. She gave up three runs on eight hits without a walk and three strikeouts. She finished her week with a perfect inning to register her first save of the season in a 2-0 triumph over Buffalo State. For the season, Whittemore is 5-0 with one save and a 1.29 earned run average in 38.0 innings. She has fanned 35 batters and given up just 24 hits towards a .176 batting average against.

Emily Kendrick, Emory & Henry (Jr.)
Kendrick went 3-0 with a save in 15.1 innings on the rubber, helping E&H to a 4-0 week. She tossed a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Marietta. She followed with a three-strikeout inning to preserve a 4-3 win over Oberlin and earn the save. She then went 5.0 innings for a shortened complete game win in a 10-1 decision over Oberlin. She gave up one run on four hits with six strikeouts. She finished her week with 2.1 hitless innings of relief, fanning four towards her third win in a 4-3 triumph over Marietta.

Taylor Mabry, Lynchburg (So.)
Mabry went 4.0 innings and ave up just one hit in relief in the Hornets 6-3 win over Averett. She walked two and fanned three. She got the rally started with a grand slam in the sixth inning, one of three LC homers in that frame.

Ruthie Williams, Roanoke (Jr.)
Williams picked up two wins in the Maroons' 3-1 week. She started and worked 4.0 innings in a 6-2 win at Southern Virginia. She gave up two unearned runs on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts. She then worked five shutout innings of relief in a 6-2 win over Catholic. She gave up five hits and struck out five.

Hannah Hull, Virginia Wesleyan (Fr.)
Hull went 3-0 in four starts last week, giving up just two runs in 17.1 innings. She won a 5-inning shortened affair, 9-1, over Salisbury, going 3.0 innings and giving up one hit while striking out three. She then worked the second game against the Sea Gulls and won 5-3 with 5.1 innings of work. She gave up two runs on four hits with four walks and five strikeouts. She started and went the first two innings in a 9-5 win over Case Western, fanning four and walking one. She fininshed her week with her highlight performance, shutting out then sixth-ranked Manhattanville, 3-0. She gave up five hits and didn't walk a batter with nine strikeouts in 7.0 innings in the circle.
