Hull, a sophomore from Chesterfield, Va., may have put together her most impressive regular season week as a collegiate athlete thru 28.0 innings in the circle last week. The reigning NFCA National Player of the Year went 4-0 with a save in five appearances. She surrendered just eight hits and allowed one unearned run while walking only three batters. She struck 52 total hitters as she reached double figures in all four starts and fanned three in 2.1 innings of relief to earn a save in a game two win (4-2) over N.C. Wesleyan. She won the opener, 5-0, with seven innings of five-hit ball while walking one and fanning 11. She struck out 10 batters in just 4.2 cumulative innings in a 6-4 win over William Peace, allowing just one hit. Hull tossed a seven-inning perfect game in a 1-0 win at Salem, striking out 14 batters. She again set 14 batters packing in a 2-1 victory over Averett. She gave up one hit and one unearned run with two walks. For the season, Hull is 5-0 with a 0.20 earned run average in 35.0 innings of work. She as walked just four batters and struck out 69 for a 13.80 strikeouts per game average.

Softball Pitcher of the Week Honor Roll

Cameron Derr, E&H: went 2-0 in three appearances, including a seven-inning no-hitter in a 7-0 shutout at Meredith in game two. Walked three and fanned 11 in that contest. Threw 1.1 innings in game one with two strikeouts. Earned her first win of the week with 3.1 innings of relief in a 10-5 victory at Ferrum. Gave up one hit and walked five with three strikeouts.

Julie Gough, GC: Went 2-0 with a pair of complete game efforts. Won 3-1 over Methodist, giving up one unearned run on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Earned her second win, 7-3, over Greensboro, giving up three runs (one earned) on eight hits with a walk and two punchouts.

Kayley Cox, LC: picked up a win in a 6-5 triumph over Averett with 1.2 shutout innings. Fanned three in that appearance. Got another relief win in a 13-4 decision at N.C. Wesleyan. Gave up one hit with two walks and four strikeouts.

Candace Whittemore, R-MC: went 2-1 with a save in four appearances last week. Took the loss in a 2-1 loss at CNU, giving up two runs on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Earned a 3-0 win over Rowan with seven four-hit innings. Surrendered three walks and fanned four. Worked a third of an inning for a save, 3-2, over N.C. Wesleyan. Won 3-2 at Salem with a seven inning complete effort. Gave up two unearned runs on five hits with a walk and nine punchouts.

Emily Salsberry, RC: went 2-0 win three outings. Opened with a 7-5 win over Mississippi University for Women, going 2.1 innings and giving up one unearned run on four  hits with five strikeouts. Went an inning in a 4-3 loss to Maryville (Tenn.), fanning one batter. Then got the win with 4.0 innings out of the pen in an 8-4 decision at William Peace. Gave up one run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
