Kiersten Richardson, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Shortstop

Richardson, a senior from Richmond, Va., exploded at the dish in the Marlins doubleheader sweep of Guilford, running top-ranked Virginia Wesleyan's record to 28-0 and extended their winning streak to 34 straight dating back to last season. Richardson went 5-for-7 in the series with two homers, five runs driven in, five runs scored, and four stolen bases. She was 3-for-4 in game one with a two-run homer, three runs scored, and three stolen bases to lead VWU to a 9-0 victory. She was 2-for-3 in the second outing, this time blasting a three-run shot to go with two runs scored and another stolen base. For the season, Richardson is hitting .393 and leads the ODAC in runs scored (37) and stolen bases (28). She is fifth with nine doubles.

Softball Player of the Week Honor Roll

Stephanie Carroll, BC: hit .500 (5-for-10) with a double, triple, RBI, and run scored in four games for BC last week. Went 4-for-5 in two games against Randolph.

Alia Miller, EMU: smacked nine hits in 19 at bats for a .474 average in the Royals 2-4 showing. Had two hits in four games, finishing the week with a double in three straight games. Drove in five runs and scored twice on the week.

Makayla Carver, GC: ODAC's batting leader (.506) went 5-for-12 with two homers, three RBI, and three runs scored in the Quakers four outings. Had three hits including a homer in a loss to Lynchburg (5-2).

Brittany Coffey, LC: went 5-for-11 as the Hornets swepth thru four ODAC games last week. Doubled twice and homered, with the round-tripper coming in a 5-4 win in game one of a sweep (won game two 6-4) at EMU. Had a double each in wins at Guilford (4-1, 5-2).

Courtney Lucado, RAND: went 6-for-16 with a double, three RBI, and four runs scored with two stolen bases in a 4-2 week that included sweeps of 25th-ranked E&H and Bridgewater, both on the road. Had two hits in a game two win (5-3) at BC.

Harley Jones, R-MC: went 6-for-20 in helping R-MC to a trio of doubleheader sweeps including two in ODAC play at EMU and versus #25 E&H. Doubled, homered, and drove in seven runs on the week. Her homer was a three-run shot in a 7-6 win over E&H in game two.

Mattie Morris, RC: went 3-for-7 with three doubles and a RBI in a sweep at Bridgewater. Doubled twice in game one (W, 6-0) and added another in game two (W, 9-0).
