Emily Charlton, Lynchburg, So., Pitcher

Charlton, a sophomore from Chesapeake, Va., picks up her first ODAC weekly award after pitching Lynchburg to a pair of conference wins to improve the Hornets records to 21-17 overall and 11-5 in league play. Charlton won both of her starts last week, including an eight-inning marathon in game one of a split at Randolph College. She tossed all eight frames and allowed just one unearned run, which was the eighth-inning tiebreaker runner, in Lynchburg's 6-1 victory. She scattered seven hits and struck out one. After allowing a lead-off single, she set down the next nine WildCats. Charlton then posted her second complete victory in a 7-5 decision over Ferrum. She allowed five runs with two being earned. She worked around eight hits and did not walk a batter for a second straight outing. She fanned six Panthers. For the season, Charlton is now is now 10-4 with two saves in 15 appearances (10 starts) covering 100.1 innings in the circle. She has struck out 63 allowed just 11 walks. She owns a 2.09 ERA and opponents are hitting .251 against her.
