Wiliams, a sophomore from Garysburg, N.C., is back returns to the player of the week ranks after averaging 23.0 points, 18.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 4.5 blocked shots in the Yellow Jackets 1-1 week. Williams opened with 24 points and 13 rebounds for her 18th double-double of the season in a 62-56 victory at Virginia Wesleyan. She added four blocked shots and steal while also going 10-of-13 from the foul line. Williams then posted her eighth 20-rebound game, seventh 20-20 outing, and NCAA Division III-leading 19th double-double with 22 points and 23 rebounds in an 84-77 setback against Emory & Henry. She shot 7-of-8 from the field and chipped in four assists, three steals, and five blocked shots. Williams leads the ODAC in scoring (25.1), total points (503), and all rebounding categories -- per game (18.3), offensive (133), defensive (233), and total boards (366). She is also #1 in field goals made (188), free throws made (127), and blocked shots (81).

Women's Basketball Weekly Notes

Bridgewater dropped a pair of games at Shenandoah (67-62) and to Guilford (79-74). Briana Moore nearly had two doubles despite the results. She opened with 21 points on 9-of-18 shooting at SU. She added nine boards and a steal to her line. Against GC, she picked up her first double-double of the season with 23 points and 13 rebounds. She was 7-of-13 form the floor and 7-of-8 at the line. She chipped in three steals and two blocked shots.

Eastern Mennonite returned to the win column with road wins at Hollins (72-55) and at Roanoke (72-66). Lexi Deffenbaugh hit six three-pointers at HU on the way to 19 points. She added two boards, two assists, and two steals. The Royals were 15-of-34 from beyond the arc in that game, marking the second-highest makes and attempts in program history. Deffenbaugh went for 10 points with four boards at RC.

Emory & Henry is riding a five-game winning streak and has now posted four straight seasons of 15 wins or more after picking up victories over Roanoke (98-64) and at Randolph-Macon (84-77) last week. The Wasps are now tied with R-MC for second in the league standings at 9-3. Tessa Johnston helped lead the way with 15 points, three rebounds, and two steals against RC. She was 6-of-7 from the field including 3-of-4 from deep. She notched 13 points with two boards and two steals at R-MC. She was 5-of-8 from the floor in that contest.

Guilford is just one game back of a three-team second place logjam after splitting two games last week. The Quakers lost at league-leading Lynchburg (58-43) before winning at Bridgewater (79-74). Miracle Walters led GC in scoring in both games. She went for 15 points and five boards at LC. She was 7-of-8 from the stripe. She then poured 9-of-12 shots from the floor on the way to 22 points at BC. She added four rebounds, four assists, and three steals to her line.

Hollins dropped two games to Eastern Mennonite (72-55) and at Randolph (53-47). Keyazia Taylor registered a pair of double-doubles to give her four on the season. She opened with 13 points and 12 boards against EMU. She was 6-of-10 from the field. She followed that with 11 points and 11 rebounds at RAND. She also blocked a season-high five shots.

Lynchburg won two games for the second straight week to move into sole possession of first place in the ODAC at 10-2. The Hornets topped Guilford (62-59) and won at Shenandoah (62-59). Olivia DeFrancesco became the program's all-time leader in three-pointers made (currently at 141) against GC. She went for 19 points and seven rebounds with four assists, three steals, and two blocked shots. She hammered a trio of three-pointers to lock up the record. At SU, she posted 11 points with seven rebounds and five steals.

Randolph dropped its opening game at Washington and Lee (80-50), but ended its six-game skid with a victory over Hollins (53-47). Taylor Samuels was solid in both games. She notched 11 points with four assists and three steals at W&L. She followed up with a game-best 13 points with a trio of three-pointers against HU. She added three assists, two rebounds, and two steals.

Roanoke lost two games at Emory & Henry (98-64) and to Eastern Mennonite (72-66). Allison Livengood notched double figures off the bench in both contests. She went for 12 points with two boards and a steal at E&H. She added 14 points and three boards against EMU.

Shenandoah split two games with a win over Bridgewater (67-62) and a loss to Lynchburg (62-59). Those two outings marked the first for SU in the new James R. Wilkins Athletics and Events Center.Kirstyn Arcata registered nine points, four rebounds, and three assists against BC. She followd up with 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. She added two boards and two steals.

Virginia Wesleyan dropped two games to Randolph-Macon (62-56) and at Washington and Lee (73-45). Jayla Harris went for 21 points helped a trio of three-pointers versus R-MC. She added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. She paired five points with six boards and four assists at W&L.

Washington and Lee picked up two wins over Randolph (80-50) and versus Virginia Wesleyan (73-45) last week. Katie Popp was 9-of-14 from the field including three three-pointers on the way to 22 points against the WildCats. She added four assists, three steals, two rebounds, and two blocked shots. She followed up with 13 points and 13 rebounds against VWU for her second double-double of the season. She chipped in three assists and a steal.
