Caroline Naumann, Lynchburg, Sr., Forward

Naumann, a senior from Mechanicsville, Va., helped the Hornets to a trio of wins last week with a pair of double-doubles and two 30-point outings. Naumann opened her week with 14 points and five rebounds with two steals in a 61-49 win over Ferrum. She then exploded for 30 points on 7-of-13 from the field and 15-of-17 from the foul line in a 64-54 victory over Virginia Wesleyan. She added 11 rebounds, three steals, and pair of assists. Naumann then set a new career-high for a second straight game with 35 points and 13 rebounds in an 87-63 triumph at William Peace. She was 16-of-27 from the field and chipped in three assists and three steals. Nine of her 13 boards came via the offensive glass. For the season, Naumann is first in free throws made (45) and steals (17), while ranking second in scoring (21.1), total points (148), field goals made (50), defensive rebounds (51), and total rebounds (75). She is third in minutes played (229) and offensive boards (24).

Women's Basketball Weekly Notes

Bridgewater dropped its lone outing of the week at Roanoke (67-64). Kaitlyn Lehan went for 17 points on 5-of-6 from the field and 7-of-8 from the stripe to go with five boards and two blocked shots.

Eastern Mennonite topped Randolph (59-57) and thumped Trinity (D.C) (96-25) in two games last week. Lindsey Krisak scored two of her 17 points with 8.7 seconds left against the WildCats, hitting the left-handed floater to secure the win. She tied a career-high with five three-pointers and five assists against Trinity.

Emory & Henry moved to 5-1 with wins at Averett (79-67) and Shenandoah (74-68) in addition to an exhibition against the United States Naval Academy. Sydney McKinney registered 24 points and 11 rebounds at Averett and posted a second double-double with 13 points and 12 boards at SU. She also collected six total assists.

Guilford won its two games by a combined 65 points in defeating Meredith (63-28) and Hollins (60-30). Lauren Ramesey 16 points, nine boards, six assists, two steals, and two blocks versus Hollins. She had eight points, 10 boards, six assists, and two steals at Meredith.

Hollins picked up its first win of the season, 55-41, over Methodist before falling at Guilford (60-30) and to Washington Adventist (67-43). Deanna Campbell had 13 points and 12 boards against MU, with Sydney Strange notching 17 points.

Randolph split two games last week, falling late at Eastern Mennonite (59-57) before righting the ship at Salem (63-57). Maura McMahon averaged 17 points with 18 markers on four-made three pointers at EMU. She had 16 points with four boards at Salem. She was 6-for-12 from deep for the week.

Randolph-Macon won twice over Washington and Lee (76-69) and Mid-Atlantic Christian (101-45) to improve to 5-1. Kelly Williams, the DIII News Player of the Month, continues to fill up the stat sheet. She went for 27 points and 17 rebounds with seven blocked shots versus W&L. She followed that with 31 points and 22 rebounds in just 23 minutes in the Yellow Jackets 56-point thumping of MACU. Williams leads the country in rebounding (21.0) and is second in scoring (26.8).

Roanoke topped Bridewater (67-64) in its only game of the week. Corinne McPadden registered 15 points and nine boards to go with three assists and two steals.

Shenandoah stumbled with a pair of losses at Marymount (74-38) and versus Emory & Henry (74-68) last week. Jordan Sandrol scored 32 points combined with 18 markers and eight boards against E&H.

Virginia Wesleyan split two outings last week, falling at Lynchburg (64-54) before recovering for a win over Apprentice School (76-74). Jayla Harris shook off a tough shooting day at LC with 21 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals against Apprentice. She was 9-of-11 from the stripe in that contest.

Washington and Lee saw its four-game winning streak snapped with three losses last week at Randolph-Macon (76-69) and versus NYU (77-53) and Stevenson (53-52). Katie Popp was 10-of-19 from the field towards 25 points against NYU.
