  • Trio Represent ODAC Schools as Academic All-Americans
    December 17, 2018
    Ferrum College running back Brian Mann, University of Lynchburg goalkeeper Delia LoSapio, and Randolph-Macon College midfielder Maddie Burns headline the ODAC's contingent of academic student-athlete honors from CoSIDA as the trio were tabbed Google Cloud Academic All-Americans from the fall seasons.

    University of Lynchburg's women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 1-0 match Saturday evening to eighth-ranked Christopher Newport in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III tournament.
  • Lynchburg Advances to Sectional Finals on Penalty Kicks Versus Messiah

    The University of Lynchburg and Messiah College played to a 2-2 tie thru 90 minutes of regulation and a pair of sudden-victory 10-minute overtime periods in the round of 16 in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament at Christopher Newport on Friday evening. Lynchburg made three kicks while Messiah missed twice and had a third save by Delia LoSapio (pictured) to advance the Hornets to the sectional finals.
  • Marlins Bow Out of NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament in Second Round

    The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team dropped its contest with Swarthmore College, 3-0, Sunday afternoon in the Second Round of the Division III NCAA National Championship. The Marlins conclude their season with a record of 12-5-4, making their third-straight appearance in the National Tournament.
  • Lynchburg Advances to NCAA Women's Soccer Sectional Round

    University of Lynchburg women's soccer earned a 2-0 victory over Emory University on Sunday afternoon to advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. The Hornets square off against Messiah College and join Hope College at Christopher Newport University this coming weekend.
  • Lynchburg Erases Early Deficit to Top Piedmont in NCAA First Round

    Lynchburg trailed Piedmont, 1-0, inside of two minutes in its first round matchup in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament on Saturday afternoon, but goals from Caitlin Mertens and Alyssa Rudy (pictured) within 1:16 of each other propelled the Hornets to a 2-1 triumph.
  • Adamchak's OT Winner Sends Marlins to NCAA Second Round
    November 10, 2018
    A Brooke Adamchak goal in overtime propelled the Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team to a win over New York University in the opening round of the Division III NCAA Championship. With the win the Marlins are now 12-4-4 on the year and will square off against host Swarthmore University at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Hope Edges Bridgewater in NCAA First Round

    Hope College scored late in the first half Friday night and that one goal turned out to be enough as the Flying Dutch defeated Bridgewater College, 1-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III women's soccer tournament hosted by Otterbein University.
  • Lynchburg, Bridgewater Headline All-ODAC Women's Soccer Awards

    Lynchburg College earned two major individual honors and Bridewater College collected a league-best eight all-conference distinctions to headline the 2018 All-ODAC Women's Soccer Awards. Lynchburg forward Caitlin Mertens was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year, while head coach Dr. Todd Olsen received ODAC Coach of the Year laurels in a vote of his peers. Bridgewater midfielder Hanna Randolph was chosen the ODAC Rookie of the Year. Randolph-Macon College secured the remaining special recognition as midfielder Maddie Burns was selected the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete by the league's sports information directors.
  • Three ODAC Teams Earn Entry to the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament

    Three teams will represent the ODAC in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament for the second time in three seasons in an announcement of the field of 64 teams by the NCAA earlier today. Conference champion University of Lynchburg will be joined by Bridgewater College and Virginia Wesleyan University as at-large selections.

    For the second-straight season and eighth time in the last nine years, University of Lynchburg's women's soccer team claimed the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship.

  • Nine-Team Field Determined for ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament

    Women's soccer is certainly one of the most competitive sports in the ODAC, but the situation heading into Saturday's final games was exceedingly rare. Not a single seed in the nine-team postseason field was determined prior to the final seven league games. When all results went final, it was Bridgewater College that locked up the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament.

  • Lynchburg Headlines ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

    A familiar squad returns to the top of the ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll as defending champion University of Lynchburg earned #1 billing in the annual survey of the league's head coaches. The Hornets garnered 163 points powered by seven first place votes, while Virginia Wesleyan University trails closely behind with 155 tallies including five top nods. Washington and Lee University takes up third with 140 markers, while Bridgewater College picked up the remaining two first place votes on the way to 137 points to rank fourth.
  • ODAC Announces 2017-18 Sportsmanship Teams

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2017-18 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the conference's 24 sponsored sports. The squads are comprised of a student-athlete selected by the coaching staffs of each team competing under the conference banner with all sports and schools fully represented.
  • Former BC Assistant Jason Capps Selected to Lead Vixens Soccer Program

    Sweet Briar College has hired Jason Capps, former assistant women’s soccer coach at Bridgewater College, as its head soccer coach. Capps has spent the last nine seasons at Bridgewater, including the 2012 season that saw the Eagles reach the ODAC championship match.
