2016 Women's Soccer Players of the Week

  • Tricia Jessee, Washington and Lee, Sr., Forward
    October 31, 2016
    Jessee, a senior from Roanoke, Va., helped the Generals wrap up the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament with two conference wins last week. After contributing three shots in a 1-0 win at Randolph-Macon, Jessee recorded five points in Washington and Lee's second road win of the week, this one a 4-0 decision at Emory & Henry. She scored twice and dished out an assist. The two wins secured six points in the league table for W&L, leaving them one point clear of Virginia Wesleyan for the tournament's top billing. For the season, Jessee is seventh in the ODAC with 20 points and sixth with nine goals scored.
  • Marli Hayward, Virginia Wesleyan, Fr., Forward
    October 24, 2016
    Hayward, a freshman from Haymarket, Va., helped Virginia Wesleyan remain in the top-three in the ODAC standings entering the final week in the Marlins 1-0-1 week. After aiding the VWC attack in a 3-2 win over Bridgewater, Hayward rescued a point from the Marlins' trip to Washington and Lee with both goals in a 2-2 draw. She brought the game to level at 1-1 with her tally in the 25th minute and then put VWC ahead, 2-1, in the 57th minute. For the season, Hayward leads the Marlins and is seventh in the ODAC with seven goals. Her 14 points also lead the squad and sit 12th in the league.
  • Keri Rager, Bridgewater, Jr., Forward
    October 17, 2016
    Rager, a junior from Laurel, Md., produced in all three ODAC wins for Bridgewater last week, racking up seven total points as Bridgewater moved to within two standings points of the top spot in the conference table. Rager opened with an assist in a 4-0 win over Eastern Mennonite. She added a goal in a 9-0 triumph at Sweet Briar. Rager saved her best for last by registering both goals in a 2-1 victory at Randolph-Macon. She knotted the game with her first tally early in the second half and then slotted home with winner midway thru the first overtime period to lift the Eagles to the win. For the season, Rager is second in the ODAC in points (20), fourth in goals scored (8), and fifth in assists (4).
  • Emily Yergin, Shenandoah, Fr., Forward

    Yergin, a freshman from Warrenton, Va., continues to be a goal scoring machine for Shenandoah as she tallied five times last week to pick up her third straight ODAC weekly award and help the Hornets push their winning streak to seven straight games. Yergin opened her week with three goals and an assist in a 5-1 triumph at Randolph College. She then chipped in two more goals in a 8-0 victory over Emory & Henry. For the season, Yergin leads NCAA Division III with 19 goals scored (tied for tops with 17 as of 10/7/16). Her 41 points top the ODAC ranks.

    Yergin, a freshman from Warrenton, Va., picks up her second straight weekly award after collected 12 points in two ODAC wins for Shenandoah last week. Yergin began the week with a brace in 5-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite. She then registered a hat trick to go with two assists in a 6-0 triumph at Guilford. Yergin has now scored at least one goal in seven straight games and all but two of her 11 games played. She currently leads the ODAC in points (30) and goals scored (14).
  • Emily Yergin, Shenandoah, Fr., Forward

    Yergin, a freshman from Warrenton, Va., helped the Hornets to a pair of wins last week including a victory in their ODAC opener. Yergin began her week with two goals in Shenandoah's 4-0 victory at Southern Virginia. She then tallied the game's only goal in the 58th minute for a 1-0 over Washington and Lee. Yergin currently leads the ODAC in points (18) and goals scored (9). SU's #10 has scored in five straight games and in seven of Shenandoah's nine outings this season.
  • Caroline Peters, Washington and Lee, So., Forward
    September 19, 2016
    Peters, a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., posted six points in the Generals' 2-0 showing last week. Peters began her week with the opening tally in a 3-0 road win at York (Pa.). She followed that up with two second-half to twice bring Washington and Lee even with St. Mary's (Md.) before eventually defeating the Seahawks, 3-2. For the season, Peters has registered seven points on three goals and an assist. Her three goals are tied for fifth in the ODAC.
  • Hannah Olds, Lynchburg, Jr., Forward
    September 12, 2016
    Olds, a junior from Wilmington, N.C., registered seven points last week, helping the Hornets to a 2-0 showing. Olds notched the opening tally and then added an insurance goal in a 4-0 victory over perennial national qualifier Emory University. She then added a goal and an assist in a 6-0 win over Berry College. Olds earned a spot on the Roanoke College Kickoff All-Tournament Team for her efforts. She currently leads the ODAC with 10 points and four goals scored.
  • Erin Septer, Shenandoah, Sr., Goalkeeper
    September 06, 2016
    Septer, a senior from Hamilton, N.J., preserved a pair of shutouts in 180 minutes of action to help the Hornets start the season 2-0. Septer opened the season with three stops and Shenandoah went on the road to defeat Franklin & Marshall College. She backed that up with two more saves in a 2-0 triumph over Juniata College. Dating back to last season, Septer has allowed one or fewer goals in 14 straight appearances, a string that includes eight shutouts.
