FOREST, Va. --- Spring sports are just about at full go with the winter campaigns coming to a close. This is the final report for weekly honors for basketball and indoor track. Those earning weekly honors include (pictured, top-to-bottom left-to-right): Joe Mikalauskas from Roanoke men's basketball, Taylor Casey from Washington and Lee women's basketball, Nathan Sheirburn from Virginia Wesleyan men's lacrosse, Jenn Schwechheimer from Roanoke women's lacrosse, Hanna Hull from VWU softball, Ryan Monson from W&L baseball, Ariana Rolle from VWU softball, Brandon Pond from Lynchburg baseball, Hank Patrick from W&L track, Mara Briggs from RC women's track, Nick Greenberg from W&L track, Jessica Kennedy from RC women's tennis, Brian Peccie from W&L men's golf, and Quinn Harlan from RC track.

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brandon Pond | Lynchburg | Fr. | Relief Pitcher
Pond, a freshman from Chesterfield, Va., made the most of his first collegiate outing as he came on in relief in the Hornets 2-0 victory at Maryville (Tenn.). Pond worked the final four innings without allowing a run or walking a batter. He surrendered four hits and fanned three batters to earn the win and help Lynchburg to its first shutout since March 5, 2016.

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ryan Monson | Washington and Lee | Jr. | Outfielder
Monson, a junior from Frisco, Texas., slashed .500/.533/.857 in the Generals 2-1 week. He collected seven total hits with two doubles and a homer to go with four runs scored and 10 runs driven in. Monson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and five RBI in an 8-6 win over Southern Virginia. He added a stolen base to his line. In game one of a doubleheader split at Pfeiffer, Monson went 2-for-5 with a homer and five RBI towards an 8-7 victory. It was his second career homer. He also went 2-for-5 with a walk in game two. He scored a run despite in the Generals' 15-13 loss.

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Brian Peccie | Washignton and Lee | Jr.
Peccie, a junior from Norfolk, Va., recorded his second tournament win in four chances this season, claiming the Invitation at Savannah Harbor Tournament hosted by William & Mary over the weekend. The tournament featured a field comprised almost exclusively of NCAA Division I programs, and Peccie totaled a 72-69-71 (-4) to win the tournament by one stroke. He birdied two of the final four holes to overtake Evan Davis of Belmont down the stretch. For the season, Peccie claims a 71.64 scoring average across 11 rounds played.

INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Nick Greenberg | Washington and Lee | Fr.
Greenberg, a first-year from Allen, Texas, competed in a pair of jumps at the Susquehanna Invitational in preparation for the upcoming ODAC Championships. Greenberg broke the Washington and Lee record and took over the top spot in the ODAC in the long jump with a leap of 6.94 meters (22-9.25) to win the event. That mark ranks 33rd in NCAA Division III. It snapped the record of 6.87 meters (22-6.50) set by Chris Sullivan in 2000. Greenberg also won the triple jump with a leap of 13.35 meters (43-9.75).

INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Mara Briggs | Roanoke | Sr. | High Jump
Briggs, a senior from Marion, Va., continues to build her way up to a possible second-straight berth to the NCAA championship field in the high jump after a strong showing at the Virginia Tech Challenge over the weekend. Briggs improved upon her ODAC best-mark in the event, eclipsing 1.65 meters (5-5.00) to finish second overall on attempts and first among Division III competitors. Her new mark ranks 15th in the country and sits 0.06 meters better than the next closest ODAC competitor.

INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Hank Patrick | Washington and Lee | Sr. | Mid-Distance
Patrick, a senior from Baton Rouge, La., took 14th out of 37 athletes in the mile at the JDL DMR Invitational on Saturday. Facing mostly Division I competition, he was the top Division III runner. He crossed the finish line in a career-best time of 4:25.56, which is the second-fastest time in the ODAC this year.

INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Quinn Harlan | Roanoke | So. | Sprints
Harlan, a sophomore from Woonsocket, R.I., improved upon her high national ranking in the 60-meter dash at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The 2018 national runner-up in the event posted the third-fastest time in NCAA Division III over the weekend as she finished fifth overall and first among Division III competitors in the event at 0:07.69. That improved her previous ODAC season-best time by 0.05 seconds. Harlan actually beat her previous time twice in Blacksburg as she ran a 0:07.70 in the prelims.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joe Mikalauskas | Roanoke | Jr. | Guard/Forward
Mikalauskas, a junior from Troutville, Va., picks up the final men's basketball weekly award of the season after helping Roanoke to a pair of league wins to wrap up the sixth seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Mikalauskas averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over the two contests. He opened with 14 points and eight boards with three steals in a 72-59 triumph at Ferrum. He was 5-of-9 from the field including 2-of-4 from deep and drilled both his foul shots. Mikalauskas capped the regular season with 21 points and six rebounds to go with three assists in an 81-64 triumph over Bridgewater. He again was 2-of-4 from three-point territory as part of a 6-of-14 day from the field. He was 7-of-7 from the stripe. For the season, Mikalauskas is averaging 9.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He is second in the ODAC in three-point shooting (39-of-83; .470).

MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nathan Sheirburn | Virginia Wesleyan | So. | Attack/Midfielder
Sheirburn, a sophomore from Pittsville, Md., put together a banner day as a do-it-all player for the Marlins in their 22-7 victory over Greensboro College on Saturday. Sheirburn scored a career-high four goals on four shots and dished out an assist to rack up a career-best five points. He more than doubled his ground ball total with 15 pickups. He was afforded that many opportunities thanks to a stellar showing at the face-off. He won a personal-best 19-of-24 restarts for a .792 face-off percentage.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hanna Hull | Virginia Wesleyan | Jr. | Pitcher
Hull, a junior from Chesterfield, Va., left no doubt about her level of preparedness entering the new season as the two-time Division III Player of the Year stuck out all but one batter she faced in a 15-0 season-opening victory over Meredith. Hull worked the first 4.0 frames of of the shortened affair and didn't allow a hit while walking one and fanning 12. Hull, the ODAC's all-time career and single-season strikeout leader, opened the game with four punchouts, walked a batter with one down in the second, and then sent the next eight hitters back to the dugout.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ariana Rolle | Virginia Wesleyan | Fy. | Outfielder
Rolle, a first-year from Marion, Iowa, started off her collegiate career with a strong .714/.714/.714 slash line in helping the Marlins to a season-opening sweep of Meredith. Rolle went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen bases as Virginia Wesleyan's lead-off hitter in her first game. Her efforts helped VWU to a 15-0 shortened victory. Game two didn't go the full distance either with the Marlins claiming a 9-0 win in five innings. Rolle went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a run driven in to go with a stolen base.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Casey | Washington and Lee | Jr. | Guard
Casey, a junior from Brentwood, Tenn., collects the final women's basketball weekly award of the season after leading Washington and Lee to pair of league wins to lock up the third seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Casey averaged 21.5 points while shooting .536 (15-of-28) from the field including 7-of-14 (.500) from downtown. She opened with 22 points and five rebounds with two assists and a steal in an 80-61 triumph at Bridgewater. She was 7-of-14 from the field including 3-of-7 from deep. She was also 5-of-6 from the foul line. Casey capped the regular season with 21 points, four boards, and three assists in an 83-61 win over Ferrum. She was 8-of-14 from the field, which featured a 4-of-7 showing from three-point territory. For the season. Casey is second in the ODAC in scoring (17.1) and total points scored (428). She is also second in free throw shooting (.900) and fourth in free throws made (90-of-100). She is fifth in three-pointers made (54-163) and sixth in field goals made (142-of-340).

WOMEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jenn Schwechheimer | Roanoke | Sr. | Attack
Schwechheimer, a senior from Wakefield, R.I., opened the season for Roanoke with nine points in an 18-9 victory over Centre. Schwechheimer scored four goals and dished out five assists. She added a ground ball and a caused turnover to her line. She scored her four goals on four total shots for a 1.000 shooting percentage.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jessica Kennedy | Roanoke | So.
Kennedy, a sophomore from Wise, Va., opened the spring season with a pair of wins to helped Roanoke to a 9-0 team triumph over Guilford. Kennedy joined teammate Lucy Collins for an 8-1 triumph at #1 doubles over Delaney Taylor and Makayla McLaurin. Kennedy went on to post a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over McLaurin at #1 singles.
