Wooden, a junior from Monroe, North Carolina, is off to another strong start, batting .379 with four homers and 10 RBI through the Quakers' first eight games. The reigning NCAA Division III batting champion homered in each of Guilford's four games over the weekend, a feat last accomplished by a Quaker in 1998. Factor in three doubles and a triple and Wooden has a .966 slugging percentage, despite not seeing the finest offerings from most opponents. He opened the season with two doubles among his three hits in Guilford's 5-2 win at Piedmont, one of his four multi-hit contests. He was two-for-three with two RBIs in both games of the Quakers' doubleheader sweep of visiting Neumann Feb. 20
