JASON TATE, Eastern Mennonite, Junior - Pitcher

Tate, a junior from Herndon, Va., overcame a rocky, but scoreless, first two innings and threw a complete game to pick up the win over ODAC opponent Washington & Lee in his first start of the year. Tate walked four batters and hit another in the first two frames, but coaxed a pair of ground ball double plays to get out unscathed.  The junior threw all nine innings and got stronger as the game continued.  He allowed only one earned run on seven hits while fanning five batters.
