BRIAN JORDAN, Randolph-Macon, Sophomore - Outfield

Jordan, a sophomore from Columbia, Va., went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a walk in the Jackets 24-10 win over Virginia Wesleyan. Jordan had at least two hits and two RBI in all four of Randolph-Macon’s wins this week.  He went 9-fo-19 overall and scored 10 runs while driving in nine more.  He stole one piece and drew six free passes, giving him a .600 on-base percentage for the week.  R-MC has currently won its last four games and has outscored its opponents 60-19 during that stretch.

Baseball Player Honor Roll

Kevin Kirk, Bridgewater, Junior - Second Base/Outfield
Kirk hit for safely in all five Bridgewater games this past week with a .421 average (8-for-19). Kirk scored one run, drove in four and stole two bases to help lead the Eagles to a 3-2 week, 3-0 in conference play. Kirk now has an 8-game hitting streak.

Dylan Smith, Eastern Mennonite, Sophomore - Catcher
Smith reached base at least twice in each of the Royals’ three games, highlighted by a 2-2 performance with a HBP in Saturday’s first game against Guilford.  Against the Quakers, EMU’s catcher finished 4-6 with a run and an RBI.  He also threw out the only Guilford runner attempting to steal against him.  He batted 5-for-9 during the week.

Alex Starbuck, Guilford, Senior - Outfield
Starbuck hit a team-best .500 with a homer and four RBI in Guilford’s 2-2 week… scored four runs and had nine hits in the four games, both team highs… hit safely in all four games… went 4-8 with a homer and two RBI in Guilford’s doubleheader sweep of Eastern Mennonite… had two hits in both games… hit his third homer of the year and a walkoff sacrifice fly in the ninth inning of game two… was 4-6 with a double and two RBI in a home loss to Roanoke.

Myles Shipp, Virginia Wesleyan, Sophomore - Outfield
Shipp extended a current hitting streak to six consecutive games with an 8-for-13 (.615) effort in a trio of ODAC games against Randolph-Macon and Lynchburg College, all on the road.  He hit 5-for-9, with a double, to help the Marlins sweep Lynchburg and knock the Hornets out of the first place position in the league.  He has hit 16-for-27 in his six-game streak, with three doubles, and driving in 10 runs. Shipp leads VWC hitters with a .473 batting average, 43 hits and 27 runs scored.
