JONATHAN MASON, Bridgewater, Sophomore, Outfielder

Mason, a sophomore from Sterling, Va., carried the BC offense this past week as the Eagles finished with a 3-1 record, 3-0 in the conference. Mason was 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and five RBI in a 10-1 win over EMU. A day later he was 2-for-3 with two more homers and three RBI in a 13-12 loss to nationally-ranked Shenandoah. In a doubleheader sweep over Randolph-Macon, Mason was 6-for-10 with five RBI and a pair of doubles. For the week, Mason finished with a .647 batting average (11-for-17) with six runs scored, 13 RBI, four homers and two doubles. He had an on-base percentage of .700 and a slugging percentage of 1.470.

Baseball Player Honor Roll

Zack Montalbano, Guilford, Junior, Designated Hitter
Montalbano went 7-for-12 with a double and five RBI over Guilford’s 3-2 week… had a three-for-five performance against ODAC-rival Roanoke College that included a double and a career-high four RBI… went three-for-three in Guilford’s 8-3 loss to Washington and Lee University… had a .667 slugging percentage and a .643 on-base percentage…has hit safely in six of the last seven games, compiling a .577 batting average and 11 RBI in that span.

Chris Colquhoun, Lynchburg, Senior, 1st Base/Catcher
Colquhoun had a productive week as the four-hole hitter for the Hornets…against EMU he had a two-run homerun and a triple while batting in four RBI…he now has a RBI in nine-straight games, while getting a hit in the last eight-straight games…has 28 RBI this season with two homeruns.

Jacob Pierce, Virginia Wesleyan, Sophomore, Catcher
Pierce helped guide VWC to a 4-2 showing, highlighted by a 9-7, 11 inning road win over then ODAC leader Randolph-Macon College.  Pierce clobbered the ball for 13 hits in 27 times at bat, ripping for six doubles, increasing his team-leading total to 14.  He hit .481 for the week and leads VWC with a .409 batting average overall.  He also had 32 putouts in the six games to help VWC improve to 11-13, now riding a four-game winning streak.
