Chandler, a senior from Harrisonburg, Va., threw 10 scoreless innings during the week, including a complete-game shutout at Mary Washington. That victory also marked the 600th career win for BC head coach Curt Kendall. Chandler blanked Mary Washington on just four hits – all singles. He struck out four and walked one. He added a 1-2-3 inning in relief in a win over Juniata.
Baseball Pitcher Honor Roll
Casey Harlow, Eastern Mennonite, Junior
Harlow kept the Southern Virginia bats at bay for
seven innings. He scattered eight hits while striking out
five and only allowed two earned runs. Harlow earned his
first win of the year with the victory.
Lou Trosch, Guilford, Freshman
Trosch tossed a seven-inning, seven-hit shutout against
Southern Virginia in his first college start… fanned four
and did not walk a batter in the Quakers’ 3-0 win.
Mark Wimmer, Roanoke Junior
Wimmer started twice last week and totaled 12
innings, seven strikeouts and allowed only one walk and two runs
while posting a 1.50 ERA. He pitched a complete game victory
over #11 Alvernia last weekend, striking out six and allowed only
one walk and two runs in the 3-2 victory. Pitched five
innings of shutout baseball in the 7-6 victory over Virginia
Intermont as he didn’t earn a decision.
