Palase, a senior from Staten Island, N.Y., helped pave the way for Lynchburg's 6-0 week as he set the table for LC's run-producers by reaching base in 16-of-30 plate appearances. He tallied 13 hits on the way to batting .481 for the week, and scored at least one run in each contest towards 12 runs for the week. He registered three doubles, one triple and one home run with four RBI as the primary leadoff hitter for the Hornets. He had five multi-hit games, including a 4-for-6 effort with a double, homer, four runs scored and two runs batted in during a 12-5 win over Roanoke.  Palase is second in the ODAC in triples with four and first in steals with 12.

Baseball Player Honor Roll

Devon Snow, Bridgewater, Senior, Catcher
Snow had 13 hits in six games to help lead the Eagles to a 4-2 record. Snow hit for a .481 average (13-for-27) on the week with three doubles, five runs, four RBIs and four stolen bases in the leadoff spot. He had a five-hit game in the first game of the doubleheader at E&H. Snow continued his stellar defensive play behind the plate as he threw out all four base runners who tried to steal against the Eagles.

Beau Banglesdorf, Eastern Mennonite, Senior, Outfielder
Banglesdorf was a key reason the Royals snapped a seven-game losing streak last week and then swept an ODAC twinbill from Hampden-Sydney.  In 15 at-bats, the senior rapped out nine hits, including five doubles and a homerun.  He batted .600 in the three games with a 1.133 slugging percentage.  Banglesdorf added three stolen bases during the week and struck out only once.  His highlight came in game two against HSC, when the cleanup batter was 4-for-5 with a walk and finished just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.  He scored four runs and had two RBIs and two stolen bases in a 20-9 win.  For the season, Banglesdorf is seventh in the ODAC with a .411 batting clip and fifth with a .652 slugging percentage.  He leads the conference with 15 doubles and is second in hits, sixth in triples and stolen bases, seventh in runs, and eighth in RBIs.

John Macon Smith, Guilford, Sophomore, 1st Base
Smith hit .563 in Guilford’s 3-1 week with a homer and four doubles among his nine hits… scored seven runs and had a team-high nine RBI… posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and .619 on-base percentage in the four games… went 3-4 with three doubles and three RBI in a loss to Greensboro… had another three hits, scored three runs and had one RBI in the following day’s win over Methodist, which extended his hitting streak to 11… the streak ended in the first game with Va. Wesleyan, but he started a new one in the nightcap with three hits, including his Division III-best ninth homer of the year… also scored twice and had three RBI in the Quakers’ comeback win at Va. Wesleyan that completed Guilford’s first road sweep of the Marlins in school history… now has 13 multiple-hit games and 10 multi-RBI contests, both team highs.

Jordan Walton, Randolph-Macon, Senior, 1st Base
Walton reached base safely 10 times in R-MC’s four game week that saw Yellow Jackets go 3-1.  Walton had seven hits, including five in a doubleheader split with Washington and Lee.   He had two doubles and one homerun in game one against the Generals.   He drove in three runs on the week as well.
