Claudio, a senior from Forest, Va., earns his second weekly award of the season after posting a pair of wins last week. Claudio opened the week by tossing seven strong innings in a 7-1 win over Frostburg State. He gave up one run on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Claudio then returned to the hill over the weekend at Virginia Wesleyan. He pitched the Hornets to a 4-1 win over the Marlins, working 7.1 innings on the bump. He again game up just one run on five hits with four walks and four punchouts. Claudio is now 6-1 with a 3.78 earned run average in 47.2 innings of work.
Baseball Pitcher Honor Roll
Kyle Henshaw, Bridgewater (Sr., RHP - New Kent,
Va.)
Henshaw went seven innings to earn the win in a 12-2 decision over
Roanoke. He gave up one run on five hits with one walk and
five strikeouts. He is now 5-2 on the season.
Justin Morrison, Guilford (Jr., P - High Point,
N.C.)
Morrison made two relief appearances for the Quakers last week,
picking up a win and a save. He got his team-leading third
save of the season by throwing the final two frames without
allowing a hit in a 9-6 win over Greensboro. He worked four
innings to get the win in a 15-0 triumph over William Peace.
He gave up three hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
Jake Bram, Randolph-Macon (Jr., RHP - Pasadena,
Md.)
Bram worked seven total innings in three relief appearances last
week, earning a win along the way. He gave up two hits and
fanned one in two innings on the hill in a 5-3 win over Mary
Washington. He worked a hitless inning with one strikeout in
a 19-7 loss to CNU. He finished his week with four innings to
earn the victory in an 18-11 triumph at E&H. He gave up
two hits and one walk with a strikeout.
Cameron Holshouser, Roanoke (Jr., RHP - Salem,
Va.)
Holshouser earned a 10-2 complete game win at Bridgewater as part
of a doubleheader split. He gave up two runs on six hits in
his nine innings, walking two and fanning a pair. He also
worked a scoreless inning of relief in the Maroons' 9-6 loss to
Averett earlier in the week.
