Wallace, a senior from Rockingham, N.C., put together a strong quintet of games as Guilford went 5-0 with a pair of ODAC wins last week. Wallace went 13-of-22 (.579) from the dish iwth seven extra-base hits including four doubles, two triples and a homer. He drove in 13 runs and scored seven times. He had at least two hits in each game, including a 2-for-5 day with five RBI in a 15-0 win over William Peace. He had three RBI apiece in wins over Greensboro (9-6) and Lynchburg (8-7). He capped his week with a 4-for-5 hitting display with two RBI in a 11-2 victory at Emory & Henry. Wallace is sixth in the ODAC in batting (.418) and second in slugging (.740). His six triples, nine homers and 108 total bases all lead the conference. He is second with 48 RBI.
Baseball Player Honor Roll
Nick Fulk, Bridgewater (Sr., OF - Fulks Run,
Va.)
Fulk went 7-for-16 with four runs scored, a RBI and
three stolen bases in the Eagle 3-1 week. He was 4-for-8 in a
doubleheader split with Roanoke.
Ryan McAlister, Eastern Mennonite (Sr., IF -
Bridgewater, Va.)
McAlister helped EMU to a 2-2 week by going
10-for-19 at the plate with a double and six RBI. He also
scored four runs and stole a base. He saved his best career
game to date on senior day as he went 5-for-6 with three RBI and
three runs scored in an 18-8 win over Virginia Wesleyan.
Hunter Lewis, Hampden-Sydney (Sr., 3B - Newport News,
Va.)
Lewis hit .400 (6-for-15) two doubles, a triple and
four RBI in a 2-1 showing for H-SC. He had two hits in all
three games and scored two big runs in a 9-8 win over W&L.
He earned the win in that game, working 7.2 innings on the
mound.
Tim Benjamin, Randolph-Macon (Jr., C - Glenelg,
Md.)
Benjamin collected three multi-hit games on the way
to batting .467 (7-for-15) on the week with a double, triple, two
homers and eight runs batted in. He also scored six runs.
Both of his homers and a seven RBI came in a 16-6 win over
Emory & Henry.
Jacob Clifton, Roanoke (Sr., IF - Vinton, Va.)
Clifton went 6-for-16 in Roanoke's 2-2 week, hitting
a pair of homers with six runs batted in. Both dingers came
in a 9-6 loss against Averett. He also scored five runs on
the week.
Michael Paul, Shenandoah (Jr., 3B - Red Hill, Pa.)
Paul continues to hit for SU, going 8-for-16 with
three doubles, a homer and six RBI. He also scored seven
runs. He had at least one hit and one RBI in in all five
outings of SU's 4-1 week.
