Loewenberg, a junior from Baltimore, Md., opened the season with a 3-for-6 combined effort in a sweep of Averett University. Loewenberg went 1-for-3 in a 6-0 victory in game one. He game two, he reached base four times with two hits and two walks to go with a stolen base in an 11-7 win. Twice he gave the Generals' a lead, first with a sac fly for a 4-3 edge in the second. He put W&L on top for good with a two-run double to break a 7-7 tie in the fifth frame.

Baseball Player Weekly Honor Roll

Zach Roberts, EMU: reached base five times with a hit, three walks, and a hit-by-pitch in a 1-2 showing against N.C. Wesleyan. Drove in a run with a RBI single and walked twice in a 4-1 victory in game two.

Brett Shapcott, GC: reached base five times in a 17-9 loss to Greensboro. went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs, two RBI, a stolen base, and a walk. Also had an outfield assist.
