Edwards, a senior from Hampton, Va., displayed impressive power with four of his five hits leaving the yard in Roanoke's 3-0 week. He opened with a three homerun day in a 7-6 victory at Ferrum. He drove in five runs in total, crushing a two-run shot to left to open the game's scoring in the second inning. He belted a solo shot to left in the seventh to pull the Maroons to within one at 6-5, and then completed their comeback with the would-be game-winning two-run jolt in the top of the ninth. Edwards was back at it in game one against Lynchburg over the week, reaching base in four of his five plate appearances. That included a three-run jack to left in bottom of the first to stake RC to a 3-0 lead on the way to an eventual 6-5 win. While he did not register a hit in game two, he did walk twice and scored a run in the Maroons' 10-7 triumph to close the regular season.
